Applying for a loan while living abroad in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Has anyone actually gone through the process of taking out a loan abroad? I’m looking for some real-world experience here.

Any useful links would be appreciated. Google isn't exactly handing me much of anything helpful.
Faulty streetlight installation in Real Estate ·
swiftgardener42 said:1. Whose land is the pole sitting on? Private, state, or municipal? Does Exelon have an easement agreement for the underground lines?

2. The landowner needs to be the one talking to Exelon.

3. As for the cost of moving it—that’s on the landowner if they want it moved. They can pay to have Exelon shift it. In my own experience, we had several poles moved for a 10kV line; we still have two left for the street, and Exelon is trying to dodge the bill by making someone else pay for it.

The pole is sitting right on the roadway in front of the house, positioned perfectly to block the driveway to the private yard. That makes it municipal property.
We already handed over all the paperwork to Exelon since the light pole belongs to them (supposedly).
Faulty streetlight installation in Real Estate ·
Hi,

There’s a streetlight installed incorrectly on the sidewalk right in front of my house. It’s blocking the driveway entrance to our family home.
Since this is a row of houses, there’s a perfectly logical spot right on the property line where the pole wouldn't obstruct anyone—neither me nor the neighbor.
Every other light pole on this street is positioned exactly on the boundary lines, causing zero issues for the homeowners.

Question: Who actually owns this mess? Who do I file a grievance with? Who do I call to get this thing moved to a sensible location? And most importantly, who picks up the tab—me, or Exelon, since they botched the installation in the first place?

Location: Trnovčica, Washington, D.C.

Thanks in advance.

p.s. My apologies if this belongs in a different section of the forum.

The gap between the VX and the 120 is obvious, at least on the LGA 775 socket.

Hmm. Can't even verify that right now since I'm still waiting on that ASUS motherboard to arrive.🤷
But I did get a recommendation for the VX from a guy running it on a 775 socket; he hasn't had any major issues or complaints regarding temperatures.

The guy's talking about how hard it is to get the cooler to actually "seat" properly on the chip, which explains the temps.🙂

Edward Peterson70 said:Skip the Big Typ VX version. Stick to the standard one; it actually fits the CPU better. If you’re dead set on having a potentiometer, just grab a Zalman fan mate instead.

The Big Typ VX sits perfectly fine on the processor. I installed mine without any drama... maybe it just looks intimidating because of its footprint.🙂

Not essential yet, but give it time. It’s coming.
Daniel Nguyen3 said:Generally speaking, ASUS boards carry a premium compared to other brands.

In my experience, anyway. When I grab an ASUS, I know exactly what I'm getting. No guesswork.
Daniel Nguyen3 said:Then explain this: why would anyone call a processor junk and then try to hammer it at 3.6GHz 24/7?

The chip is garbage because of those unlocked cores. You can overclock them way too easily without hitting any real walls.
Daniel Nguyen3 said:And while you're at it, how does the PC-8500 Ballistix run at 800MHz?

Typo in the copy. Should have said PC-8500 Ballistix at 1066MHz.

I’m looking to sink some cash into my rig soon. Here’s the plan:
ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP motherboard (might push the clocks a bit, though honestly, this board is already overkill)
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 processor (obviously I'll be overclocking this junk to 3.6GHz) paired with BigType vx 😁
PC-8500 RAM, 2 GB, CRUCIAL Ballistix, DDR2 800mhz

I'll post the results once I'm done. 🙂
stormylynx14, look, this is a hospital. I highly doubt a single surgeon is pulling a 20-hour shift solo. Unless it’s one continuous procedure—which is physically impossible for any human being to sustain—you’d always have a team of two or three doctors in there. The reality? The kid was operated on by an intern. That's like giving flu medicine to someone who isn't even a pharmacist, let alone handing them a scalpel to perform surgery!
I'm not saying the intern made the mistake. The blame lies with whoever handed surgical tools to someone that unqualified. By doing that, they indirectly destroyed a young person's life. In my book, that's both professionally negligent and morally bankrupt.
The point is, we pay our Medicare premiums just to be nickel-and-dimed by doctors $10 for basic checkups once a month plus $3.25 extra fees for prescriptions... someone might try to tell you it’s not that much money. Then why the hell are we paying into the system at all?? Is it so we can walk into a hospital with the flu and leave as a cripple because the doctors are busy jerking off in their offices while interns and med students are out there performing surgery and handing out meds?

Forget it!!
