Time is flying by way too fast

Nowadays, everyone is trying to juggle four different things at once while simultaneously juggling long-term plans that stretch out years into the future. It creates this constant, suffocating sense of running out of time and being in a perpetual state of rushing—a feeling that honestly just didn't exist before, whether you were a kid or an adult. 🙂
I mean, I can watch movies or read through newspapers from the 70s and 80s, and
it seems like even back then, people were already complaining about how life was moving
faster, how everything was accelerated compared to before, and how they were always running out of time. A
guess in another 20 years, people will probably say that life today wasn't actually lived that fast.
I still remember, back when I was a kid, how quickly time seemed to slip by
and how I’d find myself daydreaming, thinking, "Oh my gosh, I'm already in 8th grade,"
when it felt like I was only in 5th grade yesterday. It used to get pretty boring sometimes, too—everything felt so repetitive, school was just school,
you were always just counting down the days until the weekend or a holiday. And when you're a kid and you're out doing activities,
there are more new experiences happening, so it feels like time moves faster.
But now that I'm an adult, things feel more monotonous than ever, and
time flies even faster! How? Maybe because nothing really happens to me. I just go
to work, come home, and find myself waiting for the weekend just like I did back in
school... It's like every day is identical; the years all blur together. I can't really tell the difference between 2014
and 2010, or even those rough years in the early 2000s, but the years just vanish
in this heavy routine and boredom. I suppose I'll understand it better once I have kids, because
my parents used to tell me—and I hear parents saying it to their kids today, too—that
having children is the clearest way to see how fast time truly flies.
