Matthew Jackson2 said:I don't think this is some issue with Reddit itself; it’s more that the mainstream media has gone into a complete state of hysteria over it. Personally, when I look at the entrance to Miami, it's obvious to me that traffic has slowed down so much that even if there are a few people out there, they’re practically negligible.

On top of that, this whole plan just isn't going to work in practice. Think about it—how many delivery drivers are actually working on contracts rather than being full-time employees of the very companies issuing those permits? Or consider how many businesses have to send staff away from their home base to handle field work instead of sitting in an office. How on earth does the government intend to regulate all that chaos?

Take an IT firm, for example. They might need to head out into the field to set up hardware so that a completely different company can maintain its remote work setup. If you slap a ban on them, the ripple effect is that the second company loses its ability to work from home, leaving them with the impossible choice of either shutting down entirely or forcing their employees back into risky environments.

I haven't run into any issues with this myself. My coworkers and I have had our badges for a week now, and it's been fine. A few people were pulled over by the FBI, sure—they checked the ID and let them go—but nothing more.
