3h+ / Movies that are 3 hours or longer in Movies ·
I haven't really spent much time diving into movies that stretch past the three-hour mark, but the only two that immediately come to mind—and honestly, they were both absolutely incredible—are 😍Titanic and Dances with Wolves.🙏 Back in the day, I felt like I could watch them on loop forever without ever getting bored, but these days, my attention span just isn't what it used to be; I find myself wanting to give up after maybe thirty minutes or an hour or so.😢

Oh, and I actually tried sitting down to watch The Wolf of Wall Street just to see why everyone makes such a huge deal out of it, but the first time I tried, I gave up after only half an hour because I just couldn't find it interesting at all. I decided to give it another shot about a month or two later, and even then, it took me two separate sittings to get through it. It just didn't resonate with me, and I honestly don't quite grasp what people find so hilarious about the whole thing.😕🤷

Thanks, I'll definitely keep that in mind😉

Look, we really need to address the fact that this forum is constantly glitching out. I’m seeing those 408, 503, and 504 errors all the time, and honestly, it just kills my motivation to go through and read all the threads I actually care about. It’s true that I spend most of my time hanging out in the soap opera sections, but I genuinely want to check out the other subforums too. However, because of these technical hiccups, I rarely find the energy to come back, and even less often do I feel like leaving a comment.😉

I’ve been wondering why, after all this time, the Latin music thread within the soap opera section was suddenly moved over to the music subforum without any heads-up? Most of us who are really into soap operas listen to that kind of music too, and now, just because of that one thread, we’re expected to go out of our way to monitor a music subforum that we don't even visit.🙄

Since I’ve already opened this can of worms, I might as well ask one more thing. Even though it feels a bit "old news," I’m hoping someone might take a moment to give me an answer. I wanted to know why Sandra Adams66, acting as moderator on the La hija del mariachi thread, deleted those posts from a few weeks ago where we were discussing the show being taken down from the internet? One of our members tipped us off about it, and a handful of us left a quick comment to express how frustrated we were, only to find that by the next day, the posts had completely vanished.😕 We used to be able to discuss stuff like that in other threads without anyone batting an eye, but suddenly, it feels like the rules have shifted overnight.🙄

For a few months now, it feels like the threads are just going empty; there are maybe two or three active ones left, new members aren't signing up much, and the people actually talking are mostly the veterans who joined back between 2009 and 2011. When I look back at how many interesting discussions we used to have and how relaxed everything felt, I can't help but feel a little nostalgic.😢 I’ve been around here so long that honestly, even I’m not entirely sure what’s allowed anymore and what isn't.

I don't know, it almost feels like the goal is to phase out as many forum members as possible just to lighten the workload for the mods. If anyone can shed some light on this for me, I’d appreciate it.
I realize I probably won't change anything by posting this, but I just felt like I had to speak up and share my frustration.😉

He's fine if you just want some mindless action, but nobody ever claimed he was actually a great actor. 🤷

But comparing Carrey to guys like Stiller or Kutcher is a massive reach. It's like comparing Lionel Messi to some random guy playing pickup ball at the local park. 😉

Even if you don't follow sports, you know who Messi is, and in about thirty seconds, you'll pretty much get the gist of who this local legend is. 😉

Sorry, but like I mentioned before, for me, Jim Carrey just doesn't click as an actor; all the movies I’ve seen of his felt pretty mindless, and while I do love a good comedy, his performance in those films isn't really "acting" so much as it is just making goofy faces and acting wild. 🤷 Maybe I would feel differently if I had sat down to watch his more serious work, but I just haven't really gotten around to that...😉

And yeah, I am a big football fan, so I remember that local player and that one famous missed shot quite clearly. 🤣

I get why people hate his style, but he actually nails those serious roles...

Well, I haven't actually sat down to watch his serious stuff, just the comedies, so I guess I can't really weigh in on that...😉

Right now, the names jumping to mind are Ben Stiller, Jim Carrey, Ashton Kutcher, and Steven Seagal, though I can't think of a single woman off the top of my head.
