The plan is to hire a few women to handle the actual work while I focus on landing contracts with local spots like restaurants, post offices, or retail shops. But I’m a bit lost on the logistics... what’s the best way to actually get this thing off the ground? Is there a specific type of small business registration I should be looking at, especially since I know there are different tiers of independent contracting out there? And since I’m still a student, are there any tax breaks or special incentives for young entrepreneurs that I should be jumping on?
Thanks!
To be honest, I don't know a ton about the legal registration side of things, so your best bet is to just give the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (
www.uschamber.com ) a call; they have advisors on staff who can walk you through the whole process for free. That said, I think you've picked a great direction, because cleaning services are one of those businesses where you can truly build something from nothing and scale it up into a major operation quite quickly. If I were you, I'd put everything into building solid relationships with your clients and making sure your quality is top-notch—if you can set high standards that your whole crew follows consistently, once customers notice that level of reliability, you'll be absolutely killing it.
Best of luck!
