Insane disk usage in IT Support ·
wiredcyclist82 said:Go into System, hit up System Protection, and just click "Configure." It won’t mess with your OS or touch any of your actual data, so don't sweat it. Just set the limit to somewhere between 5 and 10 GB. That should be plenty.

Thanks, wiredcyclist82. 🙏 Here’s the latest on my disk space situation. (P.S. I’ve got about 20GB sitting there in restore points, just in case.)

Where am I supposed to go to set this up? How does one even find that setting?

Do what Larry Ortiz5 suggested. Shrink that System Restore space. Also, are you even running a defrag on your drive?

How do I actually do that? And am I going to wreck my OS or lose my files if I mess with it?

I run a defrag every once in a while. But honestly? It's been a couple of months since the last one. Going to go do it right now. :P

Are you talking about: Right-click - Properties - Tools - Error checking -> Check now?

Alright, I'll let you know once the scan finishes.

P.S. Where am I supposed to find the results after it's done?

Hey,
My laptop’s been running like absolute garbage lately. So, I headed over to IBM to check my partition usage, and man, what a mess. It’s telling me I’ve only got about 44GB left out of 180GB on my C drive. I went digging through that C drive to find the culprit, highlighted everything, and checked the properties—total size comes out to 45GB. So, where the hell did the rest go? What happened to those other 90ish GB just... vanishing? If anyone knows what’s going on, please help me out. Thanks!

The MP 250 and MP 495

work like a charm for printing invoices and basic office stuff.

Total investment is $267 plus tax

And if the printer finally dies on you, you just grab a new one for about 130 bucks—$50

Don't bother. I don't care about your printers, thanks!

Look, I just want to know if anyone can tell me about the Canon Pixma MP230. How long do the colors and the print head actually last? And what's the going rate for original black ink?

Thanks! ☕

rustysurfer79 said:The HP DeskJet 1515 is perfect for that. As long as you aren't actually printing anything, you've got a scanner. But once you run through a cartridge? YOU CAN'T COPY ANYTHING ANYMORE. Haven't tried the scanning side, though. On the plus side, you can refill the color tank and print cheaply. So basically, you end up with a printer but no scanner.

Or right now, you've got a scanner but no printer. Honestly, I just see a beautiful romance happening between an Epson guy and an HP girl. Or vice versa.

I'm looking for both features in one single unit. So, this thing? It's either going in the trash or being sold to someone who already owns an "HP beauty."

still waitin ☕

Hey there,
Can anyone recommend a decent all-in-one printer for home use? I mostly need it for scanning stuff—text docs, photos, whatever—and printing out documents and graphs. I almost never touch photo printing.

P.S. I’ve got an Epson SX130 that’s only a year old, and it already bit the dust. I swapped the cartridge once and then the print head just gave up on me. Fixing it would cost twice what the printer is actually worth, so please, spare me any suggestions like that. 🤣

Thanks!
