hollowbear7 said:God bless everyone, I'm getting married this August and someone suggested hiring Jure Veica as the photographer. Has anyone here actually worked with him before...

I 😍 didn't hire him for my own wedding, but I've seen his portfolio... and honestly, it's incredible. 😍 He shot my daughter's photos 😍 and they are just absolutely perfect. 😍 Highly recommend.

The pastry shop over by the marina in San Francisco☕—that guy is a straight-up wizard when it comes to making praline.

Have you checked out Castello, Dolis, and Phoenix? Or maybe Kokolo in San Francisco?

I guess I should start by saying that most people just don't get it. They look at the situation and see one thing, while the reality is something else entirely. It's easy to jump to conclusions when you aren't looking at the full picture, but maybe that's just how people are. I don't know. I just think we need to be more careful about what we believe without checking the facts first.

Man, thanks a million! 🙏 Finally, someone actually gave an answer! 🙏
And of course, the bigger guys are the only ones without any photos online for me to actually look at! 🤣 Hey kfragu!
Thanks a ton. Once I get the hall and the church booked, I'm planning to touch base with all three photographers.

I’ve heard that a few times now, and I guess it might actually be true. But then again, a friend of mine booked there for this year and didn't run into any issues at all! 🤷

Since they don't have 🤷Judy has some photos from the wedding on her Facebook profile... just add her as a friend. She doesn't really post much, but she keeps the good shots for people she actually knows.👍

Oh, one more thing. For the church, you might hit a wall because they haven't released next year's calendar yet. They usually get it around November... so try asking then. They probably don't want to be scribbling everything down on scraps of paper; these are massive parishes with huge crowds. Once it's written in the official ledger, it's set in stone.

How many of you guys actually showed up to the party? I'm wondering if the buffet was even big enough to feed everyone. 😁 What's the price, if you don't mind? 😁😁

Are we talking about Sinclair Srdanović? I was scrolling through his photos on Facebook earlier, and honestly, they look pretty good. I guess.

I was just scrolling through some photos of the Papaya studio—they’ve got them up on Facebook too. I have to say, I actually really like their vibe.

I managed to track down Jurica Veić's number. Apparently, he and his wife both work in the industry—someone gave me a solid recommendation. I’m thinking about giving them a call soon to talk numbers and maybe flip through some of their portfolios. 😁

Anyone here actually dealt with any of these guys before?

Look, I've actually worked with everyone you just mentioned...
My son shot my goddaughter's wedding... the photos are seriously top-tier. 😁
As for Papaya (Nikola Smernić), I've been to two weddings he shot... the shots are excellent there, too. 😁
Then there's George, part of the Victor family duo... they shot my baby's photos and they are great. Both George and Vanessa work together, so you basically get two photographers for one. 👍 Even though they're young, they have tons of fresh ideas. I'd definitely vote for them.
Honestly, you won't go wrong with any of these names... just trust your gut when you reach out. For me, it's all about the vibe. If I don't feel comfortable with the photographer, it doesn't matter how good they are. You don't need extra stress on the big day.

Walter Smith7 said:curious... anyone have experience with Jaglac florist in San Francisco? I wonder how they are and what their prices are like..

There’s been plenty of chatter about Jaglac Florist and Marti before...😁
Personally, I can't recommend her enough. I've used her services, and quite a few people looking for wedding arrangements used to stop by this thread regularly to ask about her.

As for the prices... honestly, it's all about the negotiation. You can talk through the total cost, you can pick specific types of blooms... the woman is incredibly flexible and open to whatever you need. 👍
copperhound16 said:I ended up picking out a florist at the Target in San Francisco... I happened to stumble upon them, and the woman there seemed to really know her stuff. Does anyone have any experience with this shop?

The total came to $667 for 5 tables plus the sweetheart table, my bouquet, and a boutonniere for the groom.

That's a bit steep for one of the pricier places... they do beautiful work, sure, but that sounds way too high for what you listed... unless those centerpieces are absolutely massive...

I’m voting for Lucija too. She did my makeup once and I was beyond thrilled with the results.
Justin Bennett61 said:That's what I was thinking too—I went to a wedding there once and it was actually great... the couple arrived by boat 😛 romantic

Well, sure... it’s not like I got married there myself... but honestly, 😍 during my time there, I didn't taste anything worthwhile, even though everyone kept raving about the food... I had to make up for it at some later dinner parties... and I can truly say 🙏 regarding the food, the servers, the entire service, but especially those little donut holes 🙂

Justin Bennett61 said:Try checking out those local spots just outside of town near the river—they're beautiful for smaller gatherings. Or maybe look into that one hall in the suburbs (I think that's the name)—it's prekrasan ambijent !!! Alternatively, there's a hotel with an amazing terrace near the coast, or that old sailor-themed spot in the city center... I went to a party there once and it was actually great. There's another restaurant right nearby, though the name escapes me at the moment. The luxury hotel is an option too, but it's pricey—even without drinks, they start at around $110 per head.😲

Kaštil Slanica... they're the ones who serve the mashed potatoes. As far as I know, Radman’s doesn't even do them. And Slanica? That place holds 230 people easily.

So, my big day is set for July 23rd in San Francisco and everything is basically locked in,
except for the flowers, boutonnieres, and all that church and venue decor.
Does anyone have any solid recommendations?!
I heard about this one woman over in Portland who does amazing work,
but does anyone happen to have her number?

Also, I'm still totally indecisive about guest favors!
We aren't really doing the whole traditional "thank you" gift thing, so now we're hunting for
something else—maybe something funny or just totally out of the box?!

Cvjećan jaglac in the works....😍

As for favors... for our wedding, we did little ceramic boats... maybe magnets, glasses, coasters, picture frames... there are honestly tons of ideas out there... you just have to do a little digging.

Nicholas Hernandez7 said:I’m honestly starting to feel a bit desperate because everything is perfectly organized except for the most crucial part—the venue.

The photographer, the band, the flowers, the church—it’s all set and just waiting on the venue selection... but I am hitting one roadblock after another.
Basically, I wasn't looking for some stuffy, traditional banquet hall. I really wanted something near the ocean or a pool, and I’m even open to a lounge or a trendy club since we're doing a wedding for about 100 people with finger foods.
I clearly haven't been smart enough about this 🤷 San Antonio is already booked up, and most hotels won't even allow weddings in September unless you use one of their "standard" ballrooms. What am I supposed to do? Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking in San Francisco and the surrounding areas for a beautiful restaurant, club, or lounge that can accommodate 100 guests.

Maybe check out Jungle by the Atlantic Ocean...? Some acquaintances of mine had a party there once... so I'm hoping they allow rentals.
Rebecca Vaughn7 said:They don't have a link, but I can PM you their number.🙂

As for rock, the Pink Panther is hands down the best, no contest.

I'll throw in Bad Boys too...
gentlepilot9 said:I was just sitting here wondering if anyone might have some insight into what the deal is with photo zumba and papaya? I'm trying to get a sense of how they operate and, more importantly, what kind of price range we're looking at for those...

Papaya is top-tier. Nicholas used to work with Matthews and the shots are stellar. As for current pricing? Hard to say. It all hinges on which package you pick. Just call them and ask.

By the way, my vote goes to Friends. I've been there for a few weddings and everything was flawless. Plus, they're right by the beach.👍

A local flower shop in a quiet neighborhood in San Francisco 😁

I’ve actually got a solid recommendation for a photographer. It’s this young married couple—their work is truly top-tier... you can check them out on Facebook at Jurica Veić 🙏🙏🙏. Honestly, beyond the talent, they are just absolute gems to work with...
I’ve scrolled through several weddings they’ve shot, and they actually did my photos once too, though for a different occasion...👍

Harold Price said:Hi everyone... I'm new here, so I could use a little guidance. I'm looking to book a photoshoot for my son... what's the best way to go about finding the right photographer? 🙂Does anyone know what the typical rates are, and do they usually offer video services as well?

Siniša Srdanović has a public Facebook profile, so just go take a look.
He strictly handles photography, but he works with a crew of videographers, so you can coordinate through him if you want video coverage... let me know if you need his cell number.

You could always organize something in front of the US Army base, too.

Stories...
maybe at the old sailor's club🤷

frozentiger2 said:Hey, I see Lisjak shot your wedding and you were happy with the results. Any chance you could share a photo so I can see his style?? Also, which package did you guys end up going with? He gave us three options, and I'm stuck wondering if the mid-range one is the sweet spot. Did you guys do the shoot the day before the big party, or did you just "escape" the reception for an hour or two?

Have you checked his website yet? My photos are actually up there too... if those aren't enough, I can send you some more. 😉
The plan was to get the shots done that day, before the guests arrived (I’m really not a fan of "slipping away" from my own party), but the weather turned sour and ruined everything. We had to push the shoot to Monday...
As for the packages, I don't know what his current lineup looks like, but we ended up doing a mix of packages 2 and 3. He suggested package 2, but I ended up adding a few extras to the order...
Kate Gonzalez said:My apologies, I slipped up there....🙂 Srdanović actually 🙂

Look, everything is a perfect five... if people actually bothered to look for him instead of assuming he doesn't exist.😂
He's got his own Facebook page with an incredible photo gallery, so go ahead and check it out.👍
