Thomas Sanchez532 said:Hey, does anyone know where I can pick up some basic helium balloons? I just need about 20 of them.

Check the party supply shop over by the intersection of Broadway and Main... I'm pretty sure those guys handle everything. You pick out whatever colors you want, or just bring your own, and they'll fill them up for you.😍
Kyle James4 said:Dear fellow forum members,
I’ve been scrolling through countless pages dedicated to weddings in California (I think I saw over 5,000 posts)... I haven't quite managed to get through all 5,000 since there is so much casual chatting mixed in (a small critique, please don't be mad at me! 🙂... but I am really just looking for concrete information). Even if a lot of things are being repeated, I would truly appreciate it if you could help me out! :-)

I actually live in Germany, so trying to organize a wedding in California is proving to be a bit of a challenge, though I'm giving it my best shot because I have so much family coming in from out of town.
I am aiming for a wedding somewhere between Savannah and San Francisco for about 135 guests. I looked into Grace, which seems very exclusive, but then again, that might explain why I'm saving up for this instead of having a car... my main concern is finding enough space for everyone, and I'm also a little worried about rain in July... I know it's rare, but just imagine... we are all outside and suddenly it pours. We'd look like something straight out of a "Rain" music video by Guns N' Roses... ;-))

>>> Do you have any recommendations for a good restaurant or venue other than Tulsa or Marina Frapa???? (My friends and relatives have already held their weddings there, so I am hoping to find something "new.")
>>> Has anyone worked with Pimpinel Catering??? What is their reputation like? How is the food at a reception when they handle it?? Does anyone have a recommendation???

It would honestly be wonderful if you could answer and help me navigate this—I haven't quite figured out how to use the "search" function on these boards yet...

THANK YOU!!!

In that area, I’d suggest Kaštil slanica or definitely San Antonio (it fits up to 150 people). Amigos is way too small for you...

Pimpinel Catering is excellent... though honestly, all the restaurants mentioned above serve great food!
And for catering, I also recommend the Ballet School.
Anonymous said:Jack, they have the same owners... my aunt said she’ll get back to me once the rush of prepping and opening settles down so we can iron out the pizza details... I’m going to try to hammer this out before things get too crazy. She also mentioned that we could totally just bring our own booze since if they serve it, they’re going to charge us hotel prices. That seems pretty standard to me, but it's awesome that they're being flexible so we can save some cash 😉
If the art route doesn't work out, I'll probably just go with something completely local... maybe Studio In or Solis 🤔

Great 👍 both Studio In and Solis, honestly, James Taylor 😍 you can't go wrong with either... plenty of people on the forums have already put them to the test through and through... but if you want the real specifics, hop into the chat so you don't end up making a mistake. 😘

So here’s the plan... we've finally made some decisions...
Since the President in Savannah isn't officially open yet, they should be opening any day now (fingers crossed),
and honestly, who knows if MM and I will even manage to coordinate well enough to actually make it out there to see it...
we figured the venue can't be bad, considering it's a 5-star hotel and we basically booked it on a whim... 🤷>
The church... we'll cross that little bridge over to the island chapel. We have to wait until October for them to release next year's calendar... 🙄
But it shouldn't be an issue... 🙂>
We're still debating the band... but it'll likely be 100's if they're available. That'll probably be in August when we arrive.
As for the photographer... a friend recommended an art studio in New York City because they work together and he swears they're the best in the country 🤷
otherwise I'll keep looking...

Look, I have way too much free time on my hands right now, so I'm bored and decided to stir the pot a little with you all... 🙂>
>
I stayed at the President in town once (as far as I know, it's the same ownership) and it was great... the drinks were a bit pricey since everything comes in individual bottles... but then again, that was a 4-star hotel, so your 5-star spot will likely be even better....

I didn't listen to the music, so I won't comment on that...

The photographer is excellent... 😍

Can someone recommend someone to sing a few hymns in the church? I'd love an opera singer

A choir?

Paul Mendoza17 said:Jack,

I'm currently in New York City and I'm not very familiar with the venues in San Francisco. I was hoping someone could give me a little help finding a hall for a party. I'm looking for a space that can accommodate roughly 320 to 400 people.

I really appreciate any information or recommendations you might have.

Honestly, a crowd that size will only fit in Naperville—specifically that new hall over by Winston... or maybe the old one near Doris.
Maybe even at a Detroit location🤷 but most other spots cap out at 200 or 250 people max...
The Phoenix center in Naperville might work.

What about that Castello place out in the suburbs?

briskdriver18 said:Hey everyone, I could really use a hand here. I’ve got pretty much everything lined up for my private party, but I’m hitting a wall with the band situation. Even though I technically have one booked, I’m just not feeling it—the vibe isn't right, you know? So, if any of you guys have the time or interest to help me vet some options, I’d really appreciate it. I’m based out of San Francisco, so if you know any killer bands in the area that can actually deliver, please let me know. We’re looking at a crowd of about 320 people, so they need to be able to handle a decent-sized room. Thanks in advance!

What are we talking about here... what kind of vibe are you going for...

The usual suspects... some classic wedding bands... top-tier local acts... maybe something more soulful...

Alexander Ruiz2 said:If that river setting is important to you, you DEFINITELY need to go check out Castle Slanica. I think they could probably handle the lodging for you too. 😉
Besides Viva, I know Bravo Band is great, and as for the photographer, I'm rooting for Fox—he did a wedding for a friend recently and the photos were absolutely stunning. 😍

Exactly... you basically just copied my entire list... Castle Slanica... Bravo Band... Fox... and yeah, I stand by those recommendations. Plus, if you need a place to stay in Slanica, they can sort you out at the Radmanov mills... that's where we stayed. God, breakfast there was pure bliss. The river was rushing nearby... just perfect.😍

I hosted my wedding at Castle Slanica... and honestly, everything went exactly according to plan. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat...

As for photographers—if you're looking for someone on the level of Fox or Matthews... my guess is they've been booked solid for ages. Better check their availability early just in case...

The music situation? That's a whole different headache. It looks like you might have to be a bit flexible with your expectations or try to play Tetris with those big names' schedules to make something work...

Anyway, good luck!

Contra... unfortunately, I didn't catch their set... so I really can't say much about them.
Megan Reyes73 said:Try EM PEK, there's this lady (Katarina) 👍 🙏who is absolutely insane at what she does! She made my cake once... I was obsessed with how it looked and my guests couldn't stop raving about the taste...

Hey lady, congratulations! 🙂

Any chance you'll share some photos for those of us dying of curiosity? 😍
Angela Flores3... and silentpuma28 both had their cakes from the Mississippi Delta and they were perfectly happy with them.... (I'm sure silentpuma28 will see this, so they can tell us where the Inca ordered their 😍)

By the way, they didn't ask us for anything.

We actually had to show our IDs.

Thomas Sanchez532 said:😂😂 So, I actually just tried out your recipe a couple of days ago!🤣

I guess you couldn't find any answers... 😂
so you just decided it’s better to stay silent rather than ask anything at all. 🤣

Anonymous said:Is it always possible to schedule private sessions with a priest? Or is there a catch? I was thinking maybe we could aim for August when things slow down, or perhaps during the last month before Easter?
When does the calendar for next year typically get released?

In San Diego, the rates went into effect last night.

He’s trying to base the calculation on the rates from the priest over in a small town outside of Phoenix—mostly because he knows him personally and hopes they can work something out regarding the dates—but I'm not entirely sure if that's actually allowed! 😕

Then, the following Sunday, things kick off at St. Peter... would that be possible then? Or not?

As for those private sessions, you really need to double-check. I truly don't know.🤷

Karen Cruz2 said:I couldn't agree more...
Tell him it’s either that or the whole thing is going to be a total mess.😛

Just make sure you double-check when they'll be in San Diego. They usually run a little behind the schedule over in St. Peter...

Then you really need to corner him...
Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Sorry, I just caught that... Honestly, waiting until February is a bit of a gamble. They haven't even released next year's schedule yet.

Come on, give us a hint...

Anonymous said:Nah, he’s heading out on a ship this Thursday. He won't be back home for about a month, though we aren't even sure of the exact timing yet—it might be mid-July or maybe early August. Then, he'll be heading back again around the middle of January... 🤷

So when is Mass?

Well, he's doing whatever he pleases, isn't he? It's either happening tonight, or we're looking at private sessions with the priest...
Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
It’s just not happening... honestly, these local pastors don't have a clue how the system actually works...
Look, you can skip it if you have to. It's better if you show up for all three days, sure, but it's not the end of the world if you can't make it...

Then he can just head over there in August when the classes aren't running... or tell him his other option is to go to some priest who will just bully him through it... or he won't be able to get married in the Church because he won't have the certificate...

And I wouldn't risk her going alone... or with someone else... maybe they would've gotten away with it yesterday, but today there won't be nearly as many people looking to cut corners after missing that first day.

hollowpilot58 said:I'm having a bit of a dilemma here.

I can't decide if I should go with a tiered cake on a stand for Karen Cruz2 or stick to a single-tier design covered in fondant.

What do you all think works better?

Or is it honestly just down to aesthetics?

It really comes down to taste versus presentation... but honestly, just hop back on the chat and drop some photos. Once you see everyone's reactions, you'll be even more torn.🤣

Anonymous said:So I guess my only option is to head over there tonight and see if they’ll finally show us some mercy. 🙄
Hey, I'm gonna try to talk my partner into it. Just curious though—how much does that even cost? Just trying to get an idea. 😉

Last year was $33... and they'll take you in without a second thought. Just show up and put in those two days...
