Based on my age—though certainly not my profession—I fall into that specific demographic, and frankly, the data is pretty alarming, even if it doesn't come as much of a shock to me.
Since I find myself interacting quite frequently with middle and high schoolers these days, I get a front-row seat to their level of general knowledge. To be blunt, given where they stand right now, I suspect future generations might struggle even more, despite the fact that any piece of information in existence is usually just a few clicks away.

How can you say that? I'm a college student, and I already have Visa Installments approved on my Maestro card.

The monthly maintenance fees usually hit my checking account right around the 10th of the month.

I actually have that specific package myself. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but honestly, when you’re still a student, having the option to split payments into installments is always a lifesaver. For me, it works out quite well for handling smaller bills or setting up my automatic payments.

The maximum monthly limit is $667. If you decide to go with the installment plan, the total credit limit remains $667. Chase will also set you up with a checking account (if you don't already have one) that includes an overdraft protection limit of $333.
Just make sure you bring your student ID and some official proof that you're currently in your second year of college.

My biggest gripe, though, is that the card isn't embossed—you can't really "swipe" it in the old-school way. Early on, I actually ran into a bit of a clumsy moment where I asked if they took American Express, they said yes, and then we realized my American Express could only be processed through the POS terminal... It was a little awkward. Also, every once in a while, they’ll freeze my card for a couple of days claiming they "haven't seen the payment yet," even though the funds were pulled from my checking account two days prior. Their standard response is always: "It hasn't cleared our system yet; please try again later this afternoon or tomorrow."
