Hannah Bailey6 said:Has anyone here actually gone through the process of hosting a wedding in a marquee out in the Midwest?? I’m looking into doing something near Memphis, specifically wondering if the cost-benefit ratio actually makes sense... and how people usually handle the restroom situation
We spoke to a vendor at a trade show—a company called Altera based out of Cleveland, they service the entire US. They quote by the square foot, roughly $10/sq ft, assuming about 1.5 to 2 square feet per guest. That rate supposedly covers the restroom units and climate control, depending on the season. You also get basic decor like curtains included in that footprint, though anything more upscale comes at an extra premium. I wasn't sure if crystal chandeliers were part of the base price... But all in all, it isn't cheap. At that price point, you still have to source the tables, chairs, cutlery, linens, and so on...

I concur... The women are lovely, and the photography is exceptional 😍 I have also made my decision to hire them.

I don't think having what you guys have in Indianapolis would drive the price up, and have you thought about getting your flowers there instead? A friend of mine in Cleveland paid for $2333 her flowers, and she had 45 tables to cover. It wasn't even close to what we're discussing, though she did have a gorgeous bouquet. So, you can pretty much piece things together however you want. And I haven't actually organized everything—we've only knocked out the big stuff: the band, the photographer, the flowers, and the venue. I've put a lot of effort into the flowers because I just love them, it's more important to me than, say, the dress. I haven't even started looking at wedding dresses yet, nor do I plan to before March... I'm waiting for the bridal shows and for the new collections to come out, plus I'm currently on a diet 😍
There is a florist everyone raves about who isn't particularly expensive... so I might check them out too... I went downtown yesterday and stepped into a bridal salon... it was a disappointment. Not a single dress made me want to try it on. They were nice enough, and I tried a few, but none of them made me jump for joy. I thought about waiting until after the New Year to start my search, but I suppose I should look sooner, just in case I end up needing time for alterations... p.s. After last night, I'm starting a diet too 😍 p.s. 2 Does anyone know when the bridal shows are scheduled? They were held in January and February this year...
Mosaic, perhaps... I suppose I'll have to deal with those details eventually. Thank you. The problem is my venue is in Indianapolis, so that might impact both the logistics and the budget... though I have a habit of leaving everything until the last minute... the flowers, the wedding dress... I don't think it's strictly necessary to have it all settled this early... yet it is. Seeing how much you've already organized, I must say, well done.
We might even know one another 😉 you never truly knows... But for me, the portrait of the deer 🙂
Olivia Gomez2 if you don't mind me asking, which florist are we talking about? exactly, that's my fear... those numbers might end up being impossible to walk away from... I'm looking at peonies, ranunculus, and things of that nature... and I want plenty of it; I need six arrangements for the church, fifty centerpieces for the reception, plus our own table, and I'd love a large floral sphere in the middle of the dance floor... though I suppose I'd be scaling back the whole production...😢
Fantasy Flowers in Columbus, does anyone have an idea of how much everything actually costs? I mean the full scope—wedding party, car decorations, bouquets, boutonnieres, the house, the church, the hotel...
I picked up two different bouquets for my mother's birthday recently, one from an Alstroemeria shop and one from Fantasy Flowers. $33 Each was fine. But the one from Fantasy was larger, more lush, and personally, much more beautiful... What would you consider a reasonable maximum budget for flowers?
Olivia Gomez2 said:Thanks so much! I'm really leaning toward the one with the black pages, and honestly, the price is great. If we had gone through the photographer, it would've been around $233. I'll definitely head out and check them out. How much did your album end up costing, and do you think it's better quality than the ones you can buy separately? For me, the most important thing is that it feels high-quality and sturdy... but if they're basically the same thing, then there's a huge difference in price...
Our album won't be ready until 🙂... I really need to update my signature with the date 🙂 I suspect it's nearly identical to the one from Photo C, just larger. However, I opted for the package included with the photographer. I'm convinced I couldn't replicate their work quite as well... besides, those extra $233 would have ended up being wasted on something trivial anyway...
latest 🙂 I needed one just like this for a christening gift, and I managed to find an identical version at Photo C over in the county seat, $130 a large beige edition with beige pages, and the same beige style but set against black pages $97. You should go take a look. There is also something in the photo shop window, for $66, white with a zircon heart centered on the cover... it is quite lovely, though significantly smaller than these.
p.s. I simply took mine as part of the photographer's package.

If the vibe is right, I’ll probably pull the trigger on a reservation this Sunday. Right now, June 11th is wide open, and that date looks pretty good on my calendar. By the way, how's the food? Is it actually decent?
Everything was decent enough, though the smoked meat 😁 wasn't homemade. One should account for that... They served platters with three types of meat and four sides.
One concern, however... you mentioned about 250 guests. Won't that new hall feel too cavernous? It holds 600 people. I worry your group might get lost in all that empty space... perhaps a smaller venue in the city would be more appropriate?
neonridge38 said:Hey, did they take over the entire property or just the hall? We're still debating whether to book the hall itself. Does anyone know what the new Admiral's deposit looks like? Is he more expensive than the previous guy or actually cheaper? Thanks in advance!
We haven't made a final call yet; they say to decide about three months out. Why the hesitation? It’s purely the cost for me... Midwest weddings tend to be massive, which means a huge amount of money hitting at once. I don't think we'll go all-inclusive; we'll probably bring our own catering and meats since we have those connections. I'm still undecided on the desserts... if you go all-inclusive, they provide them from that bakery in a small town nearby. I believe the deposit is at least $400, pretty much the same as the Admiral downtown. What do you mean, just the hall? You can't just rent the space? You have the option of $75 a per-person rate, or $140 per head.
Hannah Bailey6 said:Has anyone actually checked out the new Admiral Exclusive lounge over in Mirkovac yet? Also, how’s the food at the Admiral in general? It looks pretty budget-friendly from what I can tell...
We reserved that hall for next year, back in May. We actually attended a wedding there this past Saturday. The venue itself is stunning; my first impression was 😍😍😍 The service was top-tier, the staff was polite, and everything was handled seamlessly. They kept the food replenished constantly, and you won't find any issues with the facilities—the cleaning crew stays on top of things... I was thoroughly impressed 🙂 and you won't regret it... though I would advise booking early, as they’ve been shuffling many reservations from the old Admiral location to the new one.
I am not certain; they say one should book her much further in advance... My wedding is scheduled for May of next year, but that falls right in the middle of peak wedding season, and Easter is far too early... everything seems to be clashing at once.
On another note, does anyone happen to have a contact number for Maya Perry for photography? And what would the approximate cost be?

I don't usually wear much makeup—often nothing at all—so she did a truly phenomenal job making sure I looked great while still looking like myself. 😉 I highly recommend her. My only issue was that whenever I tried to call her back for other weddings I attended, she was already booked up. However, she recommended two other girls to me, and I actually still use one of them for important events today. If anyone needs her number, just send me a DM...
Please, ladies, I need Jelena's number! Everything seems to be booked up, and I'm hoping she isn't too... if I can even track her down... 😢 I saw a bride who used her services, and I was genuinely impressed...
