bluecobra27 said:Who even is this Tom guy? Where does he perform? When's his next gig?
bluecobra27 said:Who on earth is this Tom guy that someone actually thinks they can put in the same sentence as Thompson?????
Drew Brooks8 said:Honestly, this whole debate is a waste of time. We've already established the facts: Tony was the superior vocalist, a true humanitarian, and a UNICEF ambassador, among other things. When it comes to Thompson, all he really offers is patriotic anthems and stirring up national pride. From what I've read on here, there's even some kind of ban preventing him from entering certain countries due to fascism accusations.😕And you want me to compare him to Tony? Give me a break. Just lock the thread already. Even back when we had our conflicts with the Albanians, nobody was ever shouting slurs at his concerts—never once. That’s why he was respected by everyone, whether they were Christian or Muslim.
Does Thompson actually run a foundation?

Look, this thread is strictly about Thompson and Tony. If you’re itching to debate the crowd at his shows—or whatever other drama you want to stir up—go ahead and start a new thread for that.
🙄 And I’m sure we’ll all be sitting here weeping about it—as if that actually matters.

I’ve already said this once before—if you think Hanka Paldum is a better "singer" than Balašević, then that's your own issue. Thompson is a songwriter and a performer.
And if all you care about is who has the prettier "voice," then go to the opera—they have much better "singers" there, and they're certainly more musically educated than Toš Proeski ☕
Jessica Howard2 said:Fair point, there's really no comparison. Putting a Thompson concert next to a Justin Bieber show is like putting an Iron Maiden gig up against a Tony Cetinski performance ☕
But honestly, it feels like you’re just leaning toward the Tony Cetinski side of things, isn't it? Is it because teenage girls scream a bit louder?
Jessica Howard2 said:So, what are you saying then? Are Bob Dylan and Balašević not singers to you either? 🤣
Anonymous said:But how is it that people aren't shouting "Kill the Mexicans" at someone like Oliver's concerts, for example? (I used Oliver as an example because he was the first one that came to mind). Oliver never went around loudly preaching about faith and God the way Thompson does, yet you don't hear that stuff there either. In fact, at a concert for someone who claims to be a devout believer, they *definitely* shouldn't be shouting that kind of thing. If he actually calls out his audience and tells them to stop, then I'll give him my respect, but until then, he can talk about his "great faith" to someone else.
Jessica Howard2 said:OMG, you're the tragic one here 🤣
Let's play by your logic then. Since you clearly only care about vocal ability, is Robbie Williams or Celine Dion a "greater artist" to you than Bob Dylan? 🤣
Or maybe you prefer Hanka Paldum of Balašević? Good for you! 😁

During the song "arrival of American," he raises the sword up, but then he lowers it into the ground, and for the rest of the concert, the sword stays stuck there, pointing down. The message is pretty clear. The conflict with the Mexicans is over. That sword symbolizes nothing but peace.
