Democrats are "deeply" preparing for local elections in Close to Politics ·
Adam Collins4 said:So, I was scrolling through USA Today earlier—just one of those deep dives that ends up wasting twenty minutes of my life—and I saw they found actual depth charges out there. Like, full-on naval mines. Honestly, calling that "small arms ammunition" feels like a bit of a stretch, doesn't it? It’s definitely not exactly what you’d find in a suburban garage.

Could someone drop a link for this: even anti-tank mines? I heard about the "minor amount of ammo, 3.6 grams of marijuana, and some porn," but I haven't heard anything about anti-tank mines. Though, if they had actually found a firearm, he probably would have just faced a misdemeanor charge, which is exactly what happened.

That pretty much tells me everything I need to know about you...

Let me try explaining this again—since it seems to be flying right over your head—a guy having weapons in his own home is a different story entirely, but it's a fundamental right...

And yet, he’s sitting behind bars because of things they can't even prove—at least not with any actual physical evidence...

It would be really interesting to see how many other people get hauled off to prison for stuff like that these days...

From what I gather, they found some minor ammunition in his house, nothing like the massive arsenal you're describing. He might get hit with a misdemeanor for the ammo, but that's definitely not enough to justify holding him without bail.

On the other hand, for a charge like rape or attempted rape, the police can hold him for 48 hours, and if a judge decides there's a risk he might intimidate witnesses, the Supreme Court or the local magistrate could extend that detention.
