Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Megan Jackson11 said:Yeah, I've heard about hemp, but I also heard some people deal with side effects. Thanks for the info either way!

The only thing that actually worked for me, especially regarding lipomas, was 🙂

If you're looking to regulate your cycle, hemp extracts are the way to go. When paired with Vitex, it’s a game changer. It actually makes periods shorter and way less painful.
I make my own water kefir (tibicos) constantly, and it's a great tool when fighting serious illnesses. If anyone's interested, let me know—I have extra grains I'm happy to give away (based in Los Angeles)! Best regards

Try drinking some chamomile tea if your cycle gets out of whack.

Donna Campbell said:So, I went today and she gave me the Duphaston. She mentioned starting it a day or two before my period is due, or even sooner if I feel it coming on early. Her advice? "Take two tablets a day." It’s not a foolproof guarantee, but it should do the trick...

Now all I can do is cross my fingers. Or just plan on changing out of my wedding dress into something "normal" right after the first dance... 🤷

By the way, wearybear422, thanks for the links. 🙂

No problem. Good luck! 🙂

Stress can delay your period. You're already stressed out enough by this whole situation anyway. Let's just hope that's why it hasn't shown up yet.

I'm getting married in exactly 8 days (05/03). I'll be wearing a massive, voluminous wedding dress.

Here's the issue: my period should hit right around that date.
My cycles are usually incredibly heavy and painful. When I say "heavy," I mean I’m running to the bathroom every 45 minutes to an hour, and even then, I'm using the largest overnight pads Libresse makes. 😕

With this dress, I don't even know how I'm supposed to use the restroom normally, let alone change products.
Tampons are out of the question for the first two or three days because the flow is so intense I'd have to swap them every 20 minutes. I've tried it; it doesn't work.

I don't typically take birth control, but I'm willing to take some pills for a few days just to push this damn period back.

Any recommendations? And please, skip the "take a cold shower" or similar nonsense. It does nothing.

For painful cramps, try marjoram tea😉. If you're trying to trigger it early, I think marjoram or chamomile tea might help too.
Noah Harris50 said:Trust me, from what I've been through, you're gonna have to handle a lot of this shit on your own if you want to actually get better. First off, you've gotta learn how to actually exercise right. Right now, you're stuck in this vicious cycle where everything just feels worse because your muscles are constantly tense from being so wired. You end up breathing shallowly instead of deep into your stomach, which makes you lose focus. Then you panic because you feel out of it, which makes your muscles tighten up even more, leading to neck tension and those killer headaches.

So, here's the deal:

1. Go on YouTube and search for "guided meditation." Just sit or lie down, listen to whatever lady is talking, and try to relax. There are some 20-minute ones that are solid. Do this at least twice a day.
2. Pay attention to your breathing. Breathe deep into your gut, not just shallowly in your chest.
3. Get out for long walks. It really works, trust me. If you've got headphones, throw on some chill music on your phone.
4. Take some Magnesium at night to help your muscles relax. Just don't take it during the day, unless you want to be sprinting to a restroom while you're out in public.
5. Take 500 mg of Vitamin C in the morning and again at night.

I’d also suggest lemon balm tea.
