What motivates our local anti-Americans? in Close to Politics ·
@ Hrobatos; If I’m being naive, then you’re just plain slow.

It is quite comical that you claim identity is static.

I honestly don't know how to address your perceptions. Do you truly believe your ancestors migrated from Persia 2,000 years ago?!!

Gregory Howard said:1. We aren't talking about minor grievances here. Injustices certainly exist, but
the real tragedy lies in the displacement and persecution of American veterans. That is why they remain patriots.

2. An adult's identity isn't a commodity traded for material wealth. If it changes based on a bank account, it wasn't an identity to begin with. The Mandics, the Tomics, the Lucics... they all thrived while this country was bleeding out, all while playing nice with foreign interests in '92 and '93. They aren't victims. They are conscious anti-Americanists with American sympathies.

We are discussing people who are Americans, yet they work directly against the United States. My message above highlights one of the primary reasons why Americans, Mexicans, Albanians, etc., feel so isolated and disconnected from their fellow countrymen today.
It’s all part of the same pattern — injustice breeds isolation, which creates division. It’s simple logic.
Every group mentioned has faced some form of historical injustice somewhere.
Take the wealthiest man in Russia... Roman Abramovich. While I am certain he is a terrible individual, the reason for his arrogance and the complete breakdown of cooperation with the state and its people is—believe it or not—rooted in the injustices faced by him and his family as orphans years ago. ☕

I will say it again. Identity is a relative concept. Today you are an American Catholic, tomorrow you are an American Muslim... get it?

@ Gregory Howard... It only takes one instance of injustice for someone to lose faith, and once they follow that injustice for five or ten years,
it doesn't matter how much of a patriot they claimed to be.
Eventually, America and its citizens need to start walking their own path—right up until the moment those citizens stop seeing themselves as part of this nation.
By then, it’s already too late for the US to bring those people back into the fold.
Identity is largely psychological. People find it easier to endure hardship when they feel they belong somewhere, but identity is a relative concept shaped by how justice functions within a community.
If you tear down a prominent American citizen's home in the name of public highways, pay them $33 peanuts in damages, and then throw them in jail because work stalled on some "nationalized" road project... it might take five years, but after ten, not only will he no longer feel American, but neither will his children. ☕

An ABC News report:
Humanitarian aid for Haiti. in World ·
Ryan Bishop2 said:I just don't get one thing—America is in a total mess right now. Parts of the Midwest and down by the Mississippi are completely flooded, and people have been living out of boats for a month already. Then, the US Government sends millions to Haiti, but they can barely scrape together half a million for the flood victims here—and even then, they only did it because the media started calling them out on where the help went.

That pretty much says everything about how much we value our own people!!!

TOTAL DISGRACE!!!!!

Some people are posting stuff here like, "Yeah, just imagine what it's like for them in Haiti"... but I gotta ask—how would you feel if your house was totally underwater and you were stuck living in a boat, while your own Government is busy sending aid to Haiti?!?!?!?!?!?

A very good example.
Small towns out in rural Montana and along the Mississippi have been without power for two weeks now. People are living in tents, completely cut off from civilization.
The US Government’s take? You aren't a priority because you don't make the news. 🙄
Well, isn't that just ironic...

Haha, I told you they’d come after me. ☕

I own several companies. My business model includes donating 10% of net profits to various charities. That 10% figure is the absolute limit established by both Talmudic and Sharia law.

Since I am a North American, I take pride in knowing exactly where that 10% goes.
Unlike some of you, I don't need to rely on blind faith that my hard-earned bread reaches the hungry; I personally ensure it does.

As for you, you're just speculating. You hand over your money and let others decide what to do with it.

Sometimes, doing nothing is better than throwing money at people you can't actually help.
I'm sure many of you will jump down my throat immediately.
The issue is that this earthquake in Haiti doesn't mean everything was perfect before it hit.
It wasn't. Haiti has always been a mess. Now, the American Red Cross has suddenly remembered they can make a profit off it.

The truth is, you'll donate your hundred bucks and feel like you've saved the world. That money will never actually reach Haiti; in two months, we'll all be wondering what happened to them. Meanwhile, certain executives at the American Red Cross will just see bigger bonuses.
In two months, Haiti will return to exactly how it was before the quake, and all that "big-hearted" sympathy for the poor will vanish during summer vacation.
As for the money hitting the Haitian government's accounts? It’ll likely be diverted to pay off debts to the IMF and the World Bank.
People will still be starving, and absolutely nothing will change.

I have absolutely no desire to see our President bowing down to those neighbors.😢

That is incredibly crude. In my view, they get along quite well. Pahor isn't nearly as full of himself as Sanders.
I suspect Kosorica would hold her own in that situation.😍

It seems to me that Barack Obama and Kamala Harris are getting closer by the day.

The first time they crossed paths was at Woodstock 2009, when Bill Clinton and Obama met in Small Town, USA.
Clinton wasn't particularly interested in Obama, so he let his right hand, Kamala, handle the conversation.
However, back in the early days of Instagram, The Ex-President mostly just ignored Kamala.

Since then, let's say over the next year, Kamala crossed the line about three times, while Mr. Obama did so about four.
July 30, 2009, at The Biltmore:
Obama stated that Bill Clinton doesn't interest him nearly as much as Kamala Harris does. Even then, it was clear progress would be made from this stalemate.

January 13, 2010, in Aspen:
Suddenly, Kamala claims she could unblock all the European Union chapters held up by Canada.
Obama has completely changed his stance toward the USA in the last six months, telling CNN, "The Fire between me and Kamala won't be extinguished."

It is true there is a ten-year age gap between them. But it is also true that both Obama and Kamala have one child. Obama, (much like Clinton), is only married formally. Kamala has a very similar mentality to Obama. Despite being from Small Town, USA, she understands the local dialect perfectly.

Is this all just coincidence, or is there actually something more going on here?
If they were to get together, would that be better or worse for America?
Could Israel join NATO? in World ·
Oh, please... what was the point of America sending around 200 of its soldiers to Afghanistan in the first place?! What was the goal there??
A group of 200 soldiers more or less assists the NATO mission.
If Americans can send their troops to Afghanistan, then I suppose they can send them to the West Bank to protect Israeli citizens.

Since resources are being spent anyway, we might as well use them!!!!
