Why do we have to suffer? in Spirituality ·
Human nature is fundamentally wired to chase after pleasure
and desperately try to dodge any kind of suffering. It’s just part of our basic programming...

Our endless cycle of cravings and deep-seated aversions is the very root of all misery.
Because as long as we are obsessively hunting for comfort, pain will always be right there trailing behind us—it’s unavoidable.

A truly wise person doesn't run away from hardship, nor do they cling to fleeting moments of bliss.

Instead, they simply allow both sensations to swirl around the periphery of their existence. Their vast, inner stillness remains largely undisturbed... only slightly rippled by these passing waves of joy and grief in the far distance.

That is why the only real remedy for this inevitable suffering is to expand one's internal capacity. When you widen that inner space, suffering stops being this destructive monster that swallows your entire being whole... and instead, it becomes nothing more than a pesky fly buzzing occasionally in the background.

How does one learn to master their biological senses? And how can one achieve a state of heightened, transcendent sensitivity?

Emotions are nothing more than the body’s physical reaction to repetitive thoughts.

So, Charles Diaz56, if you want to be free of them, you have to identify the specific thoughts triggering them and swap them out for a different set of ideas. But let's be honest—that's just "patching" the system... a temporary fix at best.

The real way is to rise above the thoughts entirely. You need to become a witness—to observe both the passing thoughts and the emotional storms as if you were standing outside looking in. Just watching what happens in your internal space creates distance. You simply cannot be caught up in an emotion while simultaneously witnessing it.

Grounding yourself in that state of witnessing will eventually lead you to a certain kind of peace.

But that absolute stillness and the silent language you're searching for... those only become possible when even the witness disappears....
