People who are just plain difficult in Psychology ·
In that particular scenario, I know a handful of people who have never actually done anything to me that would warrant any genuine apprehension... yet, there's an underlying repulsion there. They’ve always been perfectly polite—excessively so—but in that patronizingly nauseating way where they act as if they belong to some higher social stratum than everyone else. They maintain this sickly, forced smile at all times, and they’re always so eager to offer a "favor" or a helping hand... though, truthfully, I get the impression they are just waiting for the perfect moment to drop a single, subtle remark—one that the rest of the group won't even register—just to humiliate you. It seems to provide them with a certain unseen sense of gratification, a quiet little ego boost through superiority.

To be honest, those types are far more distasteful to me than the merely socially awkward individuals...
