Got a similar issue here
My MP won't boot. Connectors look fine, power supply seems okay too. I am missing one capacitor, though. Could that be the culprit? Also, how do I actually reset this thing? How long do I need to leave the battery out?
Hey everyone!
I'm running Windows 7 on an old notebook, an older Dell model. It's got a mathisa uj850S DVD RW drive in it. Every time I try to burn something, it throws an error saying the speed is either too low or way too high, and if I try using a different program, it just gives me more errors... Reading DVDs and CDs works fine, though. Is it possible the burning component is just shot? I've been scouring the web for five days straight looking for new FW, but I can't find anything... Does anyone know a site that hosts all the FW, or maybe I could just flash a different one?
Thanks!
So I'm running Windows 7 and something weird happened yesterday—honestly, I don't even get how. I have two partitions, and suddenly all the photos in my pictures folder on the D: drive just vanished. I tried using Recuva and stuff, and it looks like they ended up buried in some $recycle.bin folder and then inside another subfolder that’s basically just a bunch of numbers. I turned on the setting to show hidden and protected system files, but when I actually open that recycle folder, there aren't any extra subfolders visible.
But if I use the command prompt, I can see the extra subfolders. So, what kind of commands am I supposed to use in cmd to copy things?
Like, say I want to copy folder d:\a to d:\b
I read something about copy or xcopy, but those aren't working for me.
I just want to move the files and folders from d\$recycle.bin back into the pictures folder, which is also on the D: drive.
Thanks!
Hey there!
Is there any way to schedule a specific sound file to play in Windows, or maybe some app that actually works? I've looked at plenty of them, but nothing seems to hit the mark.
Basically, I have this recording of a cannon blast that I want to trigger every single day at noon. I know Windows has those chime sounds that go off every hour, but those are just the default system ones. I need it to pull a specific file from my own folder once a day...
What does the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter actually do? I've already got my own Wi-Fi card showing up in Dev Men. Is it safe to just disable this adapter?
So, why does Windows 7 sometimes refuse to show PDF thumbnails? I checked the settings and they're definitely on, since JPG thumbnails are working just fine. I used to have Adobe Reader 9.5 and everything looked perfect, but now the thumbnails just vanished out of nowhere. It’s not an option issue, because I already checked that...
Also, I've been trying to grab Adobe Reader 11 from their site lately, but instead of the 36 MB file it's supposed to be, I only get a measly 1.01 MB download. Then when I try to run it, I just get some random script error. Tried switching up browsers, but no luck... thanks.
So both skates are on full brightness, but the screen still looks a bit dimmer when I'm running on battery versus being plugged in... It’s not a huge difference, but you can definitely tell. Is that just how it works?
Alright, here's the deal. I'm running Windows 7 on an HP CQ58 Notebook. Even though I've set the brightness to max for both plugged in and battery mode, the screen still dims itself whenever I unplug it. It stays dark regardless of the settings. All my drivers are fully up to date, too. Any ideas? Thanks.
Does anyone actually know what the grid fees look like over at Duke Energy? I’m not even talking about those $7.25 distribution and transmission surcharges we'll be stuck paying them after I switch to a different provider... I've been digging through their rate schedule, but I can't find anything specific on this...
Thanks
Hey guys, I could use a little help here. Dealing with some internal hemorrhoids, and look, I get it—there’s no magic fix. But can anyone suggest what actually works to dial down the pain? It’s pretty much constant whenever I move. I’m thinking about trying some pilex and maybe sitting in warm baths... but honestly, what else can I do just to take the edge off for a bit?
Thanks
So, why does Windows 7 randomly decide to change my PDF icons? It used to always show that little thumbnail preview of the actual document, but now, out of nowhere, it’s just that standard icon with the Adobe PDF label on it.
Hey everyone
I was hoping someone could help me out with a quick question
I’m acting as the guardian for my son, who receives survivor benefits. He’s also legally unable to manage his own finances. So, he just got hit with a garnishment order from JPMorgan Chase, and they're currently taking 1/3 of his pension. I guess what I'm wondering is, once that initial 1/3 is cleared, can they come back for more later on? Just so you know, I receive the pension into my account since I'm the guardian...
Thanks!
Just finished installing Windows 7 Ultimate and now my little clock app is acting up. It says it can't connect to the server, even though my internet seems totally fine... Any ideas on how to fix this?
Let me clear this up a bit. When I first got hit with the garnishment notice, I worked things out with my lawyer for a payment plan. I had no clue the debt collection agency had already bought my debt from AT&T. Since they paid off AT&T, I don't actually owe them anymore—I owe the agency. But since I kept sending payments to AT&T, the agency didn't see a dime. So, they went ahead and garnished my Social Security checks... Their excuse? They say I was paying the wrong account and that I need to get my money back from AT&T. I filed that request on September 23rd, but they didn't even start processing it until October 5th. Their 15-day deadline to fix this expires tomorrow (October 20th)... What am I supposed to do if they don't settle this within the legal timeframe?
I'm dealing with pretty much the same headache.
So, I was an AT&T customer, and after getting hit with some collections, I started paying it off $133 in 12 monthly installments directly to AT&T's account, or so they told me at the time. Fast forward about a year after my last payment, and now the collection agency is telling me: "Oops, you sent that to the wrong account; you should've been paying us instead. You gotta go ask AT&T for a refund." So, I filed a formal request with AT&T on September 23rd, attached all my receipts and everything. Since then? Crickets. First, they promised to have it sorted within 15 days of receiving it (back on Sept 23rd), but then they changed their tune and said the dispute was being processed starting October 5th, meaning the new 15-day window ends October 20th. Well, October 20th is basically here, and I haven't heard a peep from them... Is there any way the IRS could just force a refund since that's where the money went?
What's my move here...
Hey!
I might be heading in for a coronary angiogram soon, so I wanted to pick the brains of anyone who's been through it. Which parts actually hurt? I’m assuming it’ll just be the little sting from the local anesthetic, which would make sense, right? But then I saw this video where some surgeon was saying you can feel the scalpel incision too... maybe I'm overthinking it.
thanks!
