Once you finally get your hands on a laser projector, feel free to reach out about what you intend to do with that outdated junk you claim to own. It’s much like this situation here, which clearly isn't the case. And a laptop that struggles to run Photoshop? Please... The solution was already laid out for you: more RAM and increased storage capacity for both working files and long-term data.
silverorca3 said:P.S., is there actually any noticeable speed difference when you swap out a standard SATA drive for an NVMe SSD?
Absolutely. It’s several times faster, though one must remember that the rest of the system—specifically the CPU, the GPU, and the RAM—must be sufficiently capable to actually leverage that speed.

You seem to place far too much faith in whatever marketing fluff you read... specifically in those glossy advertisements. It is quite evident you have never actually witnessed true 4K resolution... unless, perhaps, you caught a glimpse of it while browsing a Best Buy. It is all very well written, suggesting one must possess a monitor of such specific resolution to notice a difference. You are merely posturing to appear sophisticated.
I find these articles celebrating mobile phones with cameras supposedly superior to dedicated hardware to be particularly tiresome.🤦
Those certainly qualify as 4K if we are talking about the kind you find for twenty bucks at a gas station.
silverorca3 said:I simply don't have the patience for it. When a system stutters or hangs, I lose my mind instantly. Besides, I need a fresh installation of Windows 11. I rely heavily on various cloud services and constant data sharing, so I require everything to be fast and seamless. Data transfer speeds need to be high, and image playback must be crisp. My current aging PC can't even handle 4K video playback, let alone editing when I try to import footage from a GoPro, a mobile device, or a dashcam in 4K.
😁 if you will...
In that case, prepare yourself for a significant RAM upgrade—aim for 64 GB—and you absolutely must use three separate drives. You'll want one for your raw material and another dedicated solely to staging files. Your current drives are far too small.🕺 I would suggest using Edius, though there are plenty of simpler options available; most software will handle basic cutting and inserting without much trouble.

The Last Good Day of the Yearr
Subject: Time, though I don't mean hours and minutes 😉, but rather the state of nature or the soul 🕺
I find myself reminiscing about the days when we were struggling with 286 or 386 processors, yet here we are... you can pick up a complete DDR4 system including a 22-inch monitor on eBay for a mere $100 and call it a day. For basic office tasks or light media editing, it is more than sufficient. I used to handle video editing on a Pentium back in the day, and it actually performed within a reasonable timeframe. It rendered quite efficiently without even needing a dedicated graphics card, provided you had half a gigabyte of DDR2 RAM. Of course, one had to account for the agonizingly slow loading times from tapes—whether DVI or VHS—but Photoshop? It absolutely flew.
wearymason4 said:Oh, believe me, I've seen it all—batteries installed upside down, that CMOS clear jumper left in the wrong position, or even just forgetting to peel the plastic film off the bottom of a brand-new battery... things like that.
🙂 Spot on, wearymason4. It’s entirely plausible that one of those trivial errors is exactly what we're dealing with here.
In that specific scenario, we are looking at an issue exclusively involving the battery—unless, of course, there is a physical break in the copper trace between the motherboard and the BIOS memory. When the battery fails or the standby voltage drops too low, the BIOS loses its stored data and reverts to factory defaults. The fact that the system displays the current date and time is simply because the hardware is recognizing those parameters upon startup. When you seat the battery into the socket on the motherboard, I suggest rotating it slightly within the housing just to ensure we aren't dealing with a simple case of poor contact. Furthermore, you really ought to measure the battery voltage; if it has been sitting on a shelf for too long, it is likely drained.

Exactly... non-believers are apparently responsible for every catastrophe on this planet; we should simply wipe them out the moment they come into view because, clearly, they aren't as "gentle" as the believers.
No one has an issue with personal faith, but the aggressive proselytizing of religion is nothing more than a frantic assault on common sense. Think about that.
Nicole Carter82 said:I believe this constitutes hate speech, and if similar language were directed at any other demographic, there would be immediate sanctions applied. There is a significant distinction between engaging in discussion and resorting to this kind of rhetoric in speech or writing.
The truth is often uncomfortable, dear Nicholas Barnes74, and given what a kind soul you are, it is evident you have only just begun to realize it.
