GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Yo, I’m stuck. I can't decide which one to grab—the 6670, 6750, or the 6770. I haven't really looked into the NVIDIA side of things yet, just trying to stay under about 700 bucks$267.

My current PC build
: AMD Athlon 64 5200 2.7GHz Dual core
Gigabyte GA-m61pme-s2 2
2GB DDR2 800
4650 1GB
400W MSI ky400atxp

I usually play at 1280x1024 resolution. My goal is to run Battlefield 3 on low or maybe medium settings—honestly, I don't care as long as I can hit around 40fps. But here's the thing: I'm totally unsure which GPU to pick because my CPU is kind of a joke. I don't want to drop cash on something like a 6770 if the processor is just gonna bottleneck the hell out of it and make it useless.

Thanks!

Yo, I’ve got two rigs here that desperately need an upgrade

Rig number one.

AMD Athlon 64 x2 5200
gigabyte M61PME-S2
ATI HD 4650 1GB
2GB
500W

I'm looking for a new GPU, budget is around $700 max$267. Just need it to run World of Warcraft and maybe some other light stuff without dying.
-----------------
The second rig

E5300 2.6gh
hd5570 1gb
2gb
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5KPL-AM IN/ROEM/SI X.0x
500w

I need a card for BF3 because right now this thing is basically a slideshow. Everything is on low settings and it still stutters like crazy, probably hitting around $233 fps.

Thanks!

A solid power supply is actually worth it even if you upgrade to a much beefier rig. Right now, I'm stuck torn between picking up a GeForce GTS 250 or an HD4870, which puts me at roughly $333.
I’ve been digging through the web, and so far I've only found those two, but who knows what else is out there in terms of raw performance? Honestly, I haven't really kept up with this stuff for a few years now, so I'm feeling pretty lost in all this technical nonsense.😕

Yo, I need some serious help picking out a new graphics card, budget is up to $333. From what I've been digging around, the Radeon HD 4870 looks like the sweet spot, but I don't know. Right now I'm rocking an AMD Athlon X2 5200, 2 gigs of RAM, a Gigabyte motherboard, and an old HD 4650. Mostly just grinding World of Warcraft, and I really don't want my rig to totally tank when I'm out there in the Raiders. Come on guys, help a brother out! :P
