What exactly is "homophobia"? in Psychology ·

Are you trying to suggest that homosexuality is contagious?

By that logic, what about bisexuality—does that travel through the airwaves too?

But seriously, does anything actually change?
Will some poor, innocent soul succumb against their will to whatever "evil forces" they're exposed to, or will someone perfectly innocent just suddenly become gay?

So, you're saying people who hang out with gay or lesbian folks start imitating them spontaneously—like monkeys, as you put it—as if humans possess some sort of magical power to hypnotize us poor heterosexuals...

Have you personally experienced this, or are you just theorizing that the monkey really does mimic the monkey?

Even if we accept your premise, it doesn't explain what your specific issue is—say, with lesbians, for example?
It seems obvious you haven't actually known anyone who isn't heterosexual (though you likely have, and they just kept it under wraps, which is only natural)

And how is it that all gay people don't simply turn heterosexual, given that we are surrounded by an endless supply of hetero material? One might think the influence works both ways, but clearly it doesn't... I suppose they must be immune.

Well, you don't have to look at anyone if you don't want to; nobody is forcing you. You could always just stare at the ground

or up at the sky...

The point was completely missed. I said more people are becoming tolerant or acting indifferent toward homosexuality because they mimic what they see—watching perversions and becoming perverse themselves. But not everyone becomes gay; it depends on the inclination a person already has. It’s like how not everyone with a genetic predisposition becomes gay (for example, there aren't any among Orthodox Jews).

That still doesn't explain what your actual problem is. Like, specifically with lesbians?
It's just obvious you don't know anyone who isn't heterosexual (though you probably do, maybe you just don't realize they're gay since people usually hide it).

And if it works that way, why don't all gay people become straight when we're surrounded by so much straight material? You'd think it worked both ways, but clearly it doesn't; I guess they're resistant.

I've already laid out my views in detail in previous posts, so I won't repeat myself. And yes, I am quite familiar with the homosexual population, for private reasons.

Based on everything I understand about homosexuality, there aren't any valid reasons to respect them, yet at the same time, efforts are made to ensure they still don't receive full civil rights. I suppose that qualifies as homophobic behavior—declaring one thing while acting against them in practice. None of the rights they're fighting for—things like marriage, inheritance, or parenting—can be disputed by any facts regarding those individuals themselves.

I'm not sure I follow.
Is that innate? To whom is it innate? For me, for instance, it isn't.

It seems to me that you, much like our civilization, suffer from an infant complex. You seem to think the world begins with us. But for centuries upon centuries, through millennia, homosexuality, various sexual deviations... just as well as pedophilia, was viewed in healthy societies as—well, a mental disorder. In modern terms: a personality disorder. Perhaps even a manic disorder, or an egocentric disturbance of consciousness. And socially speaking—
a form of maladjustment and an asocial, violent, impulsive-compulsive disorder.

I guess I wonder why an aggressive minority of Western psychiatrists and gay lobbies would be wiser than countless civilizations and thousands of years of human experience—and indeed, nature and Quincy Himself—given that they are designed in such a way that they CANNOT reproduce.

Furthermore, I suppose I am struggling to understand your logic here. You seem to suggest that homosexuals aren't normal simply because they are a minority, yet on the other hand, you claim that people who watch pornography aren't normal, even though they represent the majority?

How exactly do you define the concept of "normal"?

You’re honestly quite skilled at twisting things. I never said it was okay just because some attractive women are involved. My point is simply that in movies—whether mainstream or adult films—homosexual characters are often played by actors portraying heterosexual roles.

I suppose you could view homosexuality as a disruption of the instinct to propagate the species. And if that's the case, then maybe it's a disorder.

placidwolf27 said:So, someone actually told you that, huh?

But come on, give me a specific example—what exactly do you find so repulsive about the lesbian population? I mean, where does this aversion even stem from... did some girl with a buzzcut beat you up when you were a kid or something?

You claim this is just a "natural reaction"

yet I don't experience this supposed "natural" revulsion; quite the opposite, really... if there's a couple of girls worth looking at, my natural reactions tend to lean in a different direction...

So, does that make you more "natural" than I am?

You must be eating better than I am...

The Law of the Human Mind: people become what they observe. Or, well, a monkey does what a monkey sees. If someone spends too much time in that kind of environment, or watches that sort of pornography...

Emily Robinson4 said:It’s always the same—the second someone makes even a mildly "pro-gay" comment, people immediately jump to the conclusion that they must be part of the community themselves... typical logic, right?

It seems like you guys follow that same logic, accusing anyone who opposes the promotion of that lifestyle of being closeted...

how cute

Why on earth would I be disgusted by my friend just because she's a lesbian?
For what reason?
Just because she lives with her girlfriend? I don't see any reason to have any aversion toward her whatsoever
Only bitter people want others to suffer; only miserable people refuse to let others be happy.
I honestly feel sorry for people like that.

Unless you happen to be that friend herself...🤣😂

Ryan Wood98 said:If anyone reading your post happened to mistakenly believe that you were "normal," I imagine this sentence has certainly made things clear 🤣🤣

Man, do you honestly think the internet would be flooded with lesbian pornography if "normal men" actually despised them? 🤣🤣

I guess I should say congratulations, because you just outed yourself 🤣

Don't try to be sneaky about this—there's a massive difference between adult film stars doing their jobs for a paycheck and some gross person being a lesbian. And honestly, who even decides if today's guys are "normal" or if consuming porn online is normal... especially when someone spends twelve hours jerking off at a computer while life passes them by...

If you look at how the word fear is used in the English language, it’s often linked to psychological conditions. And I guess that’s where the catch is. Homosexuals want to label anyone who finds their behavior repulsive as being "insane." It feels like a smear campaign to me... an attempt at brainwashing to build a society rooted in evil, where perfectly decent citizens end up being mistreated—or "treated," I suppose—in psychiatric wards because of some fabricated "illness" called "homophobia."

Because when you point out that they have psychological issues, they just want to fight... maybe because there's a certain darkness inside them. So much for their version of "normalcy."

I don't think any normal man or woman could feel fear toward something so unnatural. People claiming to have a phobia seem to need police protection, yet it feels like the police only exist to protect homophobic homosexuals. I mean, what is there to be afraid of? They’re supposedly the pacifists of their group; most can't even land a slap.

This whole idea of "homophobia" seems like a political label to me—just a way to flip values upside down and twist perspectives. It's a tactic to justify their warped views, but I guess not everyone is gullible enough to buy into it.

A natural reaction for any normal man might be a sense of disgust toward a homosexual or contempt for a lesbian. Similarly, a normal woman might find a lesbian repulsive and feel contempt for a homosexual. No matter what laws they pass, I don't think they will ever change that natural human response. They aren't looking for progress; they just want to indulge in their own hedonism.

Well, they can enjoy themselves... just not on our dime.
