Now it turns out there really is someone bigger... oh boy....

Oh, really? Yours is bigger?
Fine, I'll take your word for it. No need to show proof.

It probably isn't. Honestly, I don't care enough to obsess over it. Let the girls worry about that.🙂
I'm not the type who needs everything to be perfect or always be right, unlike some people on this forum.🙂

Jessica Grant56 and Terry Johnson3, please take it to the DMs if you two have more to say to one another.
I’m not going to sit here and moderate endless nitpicking. Whether there's actual substance to the argument or it's just noise, I'll be scrubbing anything from anyone looking to start a fight.

And you're a moderator on this PDF too?
Well, damn. Guess I can't insult Jessica Grant56 anymore. What a shame, but oh well...

Now it looks like there really is someone higher up... wow.

Jessica Grant56 said:Why should you be upset? We don't agree on everything, but—hey—we’re still being civil and actually talking to one another. At the end of the day, this isn't how anyone makes a living, nor is it the most important thing in the world. Not to me, anyway... And just to set the record straight: I never once said that TechCrunch was garbage, nor did I call Bill Gates an idiot or anything of the sort—though, honestly, I certainly had my reasons. That guy tends to hold a grudge whenever someone gets bitten, and looking back, he really went after anyone who dared to criticize his favorite little toy. I think our willingness to tolerate that kind of behavior is exactly what's driven people away—I can't list everyone, obviously—so that's really just my way of pointing it out. Plus, on average... It feels like about 75% of their posts are just one long advertisement for the exact same thing. And you’re just letting that happen.

You’re asking what I’d do? It’s obvious—wipe it clean. You have to show that this kind of verbal abuse isn't tolerated, especially the way Bill Gates carries himself. He targets people personally, but... well, you already know all that, and you handled him perfectly in your response. And honestly, he just doesn't seem capable of having a civil conversation. If I were to sit here and list every single insult he threw at you, you'd wonder what kind of moderator would ever allow that kind of behavior... it really makes you question if there's some sort of connection there. But let's move past that. You’ve given me a "timeout" more than once before because my replies got a little too heated—I took it in stride and learned my lesson, though! You can see I don't get rattled by the petty nonsense people throw my way. When you're right, you're right. But when you aren't, you end up in these debates—not out of malice, but just to see if there's a better way to communicate. As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't mind keeping in touch with our old group via email, but... why did we all drift away in the first place? That’s a question you really have to ponder.

Honestly, Terry Johnson3 should just delete everything so he doesn't accidentally end up looking like an idiot. 🙂
To me, sisenis is garbage and will always be garbage. To someone else, he might be the best; that's how it works. You're trying to claim I'm saying nobody should buy TechCrunch without testing it first. If they try it and like it, fine. If they try it and hate it, also fine. But you seem to want things forced on people. Terry Johnson3 should just shut up so no one can talk trash about your precious sisenis. You're being transparent...

And there's no secret connection; that was a joke (at least we're allowed to joke a little here in the chat, unless there are bans for that too). I wouldn't even know Henry Edwards33 was on this forum if she hadn't started banning me. And when it's necessary, fine—there has to be some standard of culture maintained, I agree with that. I've never been against moderation, just against inequality—when your insults or baseless criticisms stay up while mine get deleted, that's not fair.

Nobody left; everyone is still here. They're just bored. Besides, new people keep showing up. In fact, the fewer people there are, the better, because there's less to deal with after your stupidity (stuff about motherboards with built-in hard drives, online stores, and sisenis's checkout transfers that have nothing to do with the topic). I find it hard to deal with your condescending attitude too, especially since you clearly don't know anything but want to act like a genius. A total snob.

Well, damn, Terry Johnson3, what was the point of that?

I guess I was being naive and a bit foolish if I actually thought grown adults were capable of having a decent conversation. It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that you basically have to drop down to a five-year-old's level just to be heard.

I don't get it, what's the problem?

And besides, who gave you the right to decide I'm an adult who needs to "communicate" properly?

dUbO said:I'll admit, I'm confused... Is an e-commerce store considered software—or a business?

It’s both, genius. You should probably know that by now.
It sounds like some pipe dream to me. 🙂 Meanwhile, Sisenis isn't dreaming; he's just stuck in the mud. 🙂

Man, I really hope the mods don't just archive this nonsense. Hopefully, they'll show some mercy and move it over to the chat instead...

Terry Johnson3 said:You've got a point. He’s already lost his cool and is spitting venom at thousands of users who bought "junk," but honestly, that says more about him than anyone else. Still, I respect the moderator's gag order—PSSSST!!!

Why is the moderator leaving this insulting, false comment up while deleting the response? It feels pretty biased. If we aren't allowed to poke fun at sinesis or push back against dUbO, then this thread should just be renamed "The Great Sinesis Fan Club."

I'm sticking to my guns: sinesis is garbage, and I have the arguments to prove it (which I've laid out a few times already). And look, I've admitted that I buy junk sometimes too—that's not an insult to sinesis customers, because we all make bad calls. In the US, cheap IKEA or big-box furniture sells like crazy despite being low quality, which shows how much you love that model. Are the people buying it stupid, or just on a budget?

Jessica Grant56 said:Look, I’m sorry, but you are being incredibly annoying with all this "know-it-all" energy!!! Don't try to lecture us when you clearly don't have a clue about the subject—and honestly, stay out of things that don't involve you; let the people actually interested handle it. Just so you know how wrong you are: the motherboard uses large memory—like an HDD, if you've ever even heard of one?—to store data for that day, so it’s absolutely vital for working with the SWOT.

But seriously—once again, PLEASE stick to the technical stuff and stop trying to be the expert on everything. We can manage without your input. For me, the discussion is over, just like Liti asked—STOP.

Yeah, it's obvious you're an expert. HDDs are always built into the motherboard. Please, don't tell anyone else that unless you want regular users laughing at you. It’s basic tech culture—stuff kids learn in their first computer class—yet here you are acting like some high-level pro who rewrites everyone else's code. A real hacker wouldn't even 🙂
Please, don't dig this hole any deeper...
And stop calling every single comment "matching lids," because according to you, you're the only one allowed to have an opinion on anything.

Pupila will only open a forum if he wants to run a smear campaign, since he'd just get choked out by user feedback. And Pupila definitely won't do that; he's too cunning for his own good.

lili p. said:Great info. Honestly, this whole mess drove me crazy. I finished recording everything, but now there's zero progress. I’m not rushing it; I'll let him sit with it for a while to figure out if he's actually done or not. Nothing happens. It just stalls.
I'll give that a shot, thanks. I'll let you know how it goes.

Exactly. We need to share this kind of stuff and help people out when manufacturers fail to do it properly.
To address the comment from dubin: I'm not attacking Sinesis or the people who bought their software. I buy junk sometimes too—usually because of bad info or price—but at least I don't brag about buying a "premium brand" and tell everyone else they have to buy it. Sinesis has a massive user base, which is its one real advantage (why they reached that size is a question we've already covered, but let's move on). That makes it easier to swap info, though most people are too lazy or too jealous to share what they find. Personally, I think the developer should be paying people (if they aren't already) or at least thanking those who help his users navigate his own software since he won't do it himself.
Just because Best Buy is bad for you doesn't mean it's bad for everyone, and just because it works for me doesn't mean it works for everyone. Your constant bashing doesn't help anyone make a choice. So don't get mad when I snap back and criticize your "perfect" software.
As for that nonsense about motherboards, I won't even dignify it with a response. I haven't heard such stupidity in ages. Software houses might collaborate or buy licenses from each other, but they definitely aren't teaming up to build small programs together. There are plenty of license deals and partnerships in the high-end market, so maybe educate yourself before you start rambling about how "perfect everything is in the West." You sound like some local hack acting like you're smarter than everyone else.

Michelle Williams6 said:Your response is slightly misguided, given that the page displays phone numbers. Essentially, free users can reach out from 0 to 24...😁Downloading a program doesn't necessarily make you a user...

Accessing the data isn't the issue... It's the lack of transparency.
Terry Johnson3 Asks:
I have no idea why you started attacking Techtronic... It seems I am getting under your skin... I find myself mentioning them quite often. Go ahead and tear into me... just try to find some smarter, more reasoned critiques for them...

You're right...👍 Find me that one post where I tore into Techtronic. Don't skip over that comment...

I haven't even written that down anywhere...😁 I was merely suggesting that it’s highly unlikely Techtronic is superior in every single category compared to Synapse. As someone else pointed out earlier... Synapse is perfectly adequate for a small bookstore, but once you deal with heavy inventory, it falters. Though, that’s an old story and hardly worth revisiting. You get what you pay for. Furthermore, I wasn't particularly impressed by the feedback from the user who tested Techtronic here. If anything, it felt like a budget program attempting to do too much while delivering very little. It seemed they tried to cover too much ground, resulting in a surface-level experience. Very few background processes... that was my impression. If it was just me, then perhaps it was someone else as well. I'm not stating it as fact, just how it felt. Whatever...

How do you see it? Are you actually impressed with Access, or...? Do you truly believe that relational databases are inherently superior? Is the database always to blame for a program's lack of functionality...

And you still haven't provided the company name...😁 .

As I previously stated, I have no intention of attacking Techtronic. It isn't my goal. This individual is working hard, just like anyone else, trying to make a mark in the market—though, frankly, they’ve already made it with 25,000 references. I never claimed the software was subpar; my issue is the lack of corporate transparency... I suspect even US regulations might take issue with it. The justification you offered doesn't hold much water. Honestly, how many people actually work at that firm? Is it more than one? Just asking... purely out of curiosity... since we are all here advertising...😁

Huh, this is the exact opposite of what I’ve gathered. I’d actually love to see that comment you're talking about—I didn't notice it before, and I can't find it now. Honestly, it feels like you're making it up. Maybe "spitting on them" is too harsh, but you’re definitely being superficial here. You find one single flaw—and for the record, I never claimed Techno was perfect—but instead of critiquing the software itself, you attack the distribution and turn it into this massive issue. I personally know a case where a local repair shop in my city was selling Techno as if they developed it themselves, just to pocket a huge margin. That isn't a failure of the programming team; it's a distribution problem, and those are two completely separate departments. You can't even blame the Head of Distribution if they weren't aware of it. It only came to light once the customer ran into trouble and tracked down the actual company on their own. Even after that, the client stayed with the distributor, just with a different field technician, because the original guys couldn't even handle a basic setup.
So, you’re judging these programs based on whether they hide their company names—even though they aren't exactly keeping them under wraps. You brought up examples where people go out of their way to mask who they are, like VTI hiding suppliers or IvanP masking his own firm. But look at IvanP. You can find everything through a quick DM. Now I know exactly who they are, how many employees they have, when they launched, and I even scored a demo. Sure, it would be better if all that info was public from the jump (I'm with you there), but I don't see it as a dealbreaker. To me, this is just a minor annoyance, not a massive issue. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill.

I’m not saying that’s exactly how it is, but that’s the vibe. Honestly... How do you see it? Are you actually impressed with the access, or...? Do you really think paid databases are inherently better? And do you honestly believe the database is always responsible for how well a program functions?

I can only say that you aren't making any effort to actually get to know who you're talking to. If you did, you wouldn't be asking these kinds of questions. We already agreed on these topics recently, so I have no idea where this sudden doubt is coming from. It's just superficiality, plain and simple.

Timothy Morgan38 said:Since you called me out directly, let me explain why I’m keeping the software name under wraps. Hopefully, that settles this item on the agenda once and for all... The sole reason I won't name it publicly is because the owner and I have an agreement. He wants me to recommend his program exclusively to my business partners and people I actually know or have worked with... And since the owner is also a friend—we moved from a strictly professional relationship to a business-friendly one over the years—I respect his wishes...

Given that online forums are crawling with self-proclaimed "all-in-one" geniuses, and the market is flooded with "fly-by-night" companies where finding an honest firm you can actually work with feels like winning the Powerball, his decision makes perfect sense to me...

It's a small, family-run outfit with a few partners involved in development, and they intend to keep it that way... The "grab the cash and run until the experts leave" mentality isn't how they operate... and I respect that... Honestly, I'm the same way; I refuse to work with anyone I don't have a solid referral for... I've been burned too many times and paid far too much in taxes on invoices that I'll never actually collect...

Most importantly, you aren't going to see me recommending this program to just anyone. I am simply comparing experiences with various firms in the industry that I've dealt with... If I had a bad experience with someone being discussed here, naturally, I'm going to say so... if the experience was good, I'll say that too...

And I'll repeat what I've said before: this thread is titled ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE, not Synapse... I don't see any logical reason why this discussion should be treated as nothing more than a helpdesk for people with questions about Synapse while everyone else stays quiet...

If I'm wrong, then fine, rename the thread to SYNAPSE and I'll stop showing up here altogether...

That's why I'm glad Techtronic came up. As soon as I get a chance (read: when I actually have free time), I'll try to test their software. If it holds up, I might suggest it to people looking for a more budget-friendly solution (for things like invoicing, inventory, POS, etc.)... Because, truth be told, I am looking for a cheaper option that I can recommend to my clients with total peace of mind...

I hear you, and you've got a point. Still, I don't get why a company would be so against being mentioned in a positive light. Maybe they're just scared some negative feedback might surface?

Most importantly, you won't see me recommending this software to anyone else.

You recommend it, just privately. That's what I don't get. Why are people on this forum somehow less worthy than your personal contacts? Are we all just scammers and frauds here?

this thread is about ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE, not SYNESIS...

Take that up with Dub Quote 🙂

That's why I'm glad Techno was mentioned. As soon as I have the chance (meaning: when I actually have time), I'll try to test out the software. If it's good, I'll recommend it to folks looking for a cheaper solution (like invoicing, inventory, POS, etc.)... because honestly, I am looking for a budget-friendly option I can confidently suggest to my clients...

Fair enough.

Hallelujah!!!
Finally, someone noticed..
It wasn't that I was "intimidated by expertise," it's more that a couple of pages back, I realized I couldn't understand a single thing being said..
And when I asked for a simple definition, some condescending expert decided to lecture me on what kind of accountant I am and how I clearly don't understand numbers..
Since I didn't have a comeback on his level, I just gave up on asking questions altogether.
While we're on the subject, my overall impression of this forum is that if you dare to ask something you don't know, you'll always find some know-it-all ready to mock you..
Quality advice and reasoned answers are becoming harder and harder to find.

I agree, though you might have been aiming that comment at my response above. I’m not the type to look down on anyone—quite the opposite. I can't stand arrogance. But in your case, the issue was different. You didn't even want to put in the effort to grasp the obvious facts that would have actually helped you. If you're struggling to understand what a price bracket is, then fine, we've reached the point where I'd practically have to explain why the sky is blue. People here don't have time for that.
And when people *do* take the time, you either get someone refusing to name the software they recommend, or you get those who just bash everything without making a single valid point. If that's the crowd that's preferred here, I might as well just walk away.

Iceman said:claims they have 25,000 references. hilarious.

If you're acting like a child, then yeah, that's you. If it's so funny, why don't you just download their reference list and start calling them? Look, Dubo actually got in touch with them and tested things out. He says they’re polite (I guess even ghosts can be polite), but his verdict was that switching isn't worth the cost. The reason they don't blast their client data all over their website has everything to do with those "numerous" references. A certain percentage of them—maybe 10-20%, who knows—are free users. Imagine if all of them started blowing up your phone; how many helpdesk operators would you need to hire just to deal with free users?
That's already explained here, and it's on their site too, but apparently, you missed it. I honestly don't get how their customers find their phone number or bank details. You probably just get an offer and an invoice that, surprisingly enough, includes the account info, phone number, and distributor name.
I don't know why you're attacking Techno. It's obvious I'm getting under your skin because I mention them so often. So instead, go after me, but try to find some smarter, more reasoned criticism for them.
I'm not their lawyer, and I don't work in their marketing or helpdesk departments (Dubo just asked me to explain a few things, so I pointed him straight to them).
Besides, I mention other programs too, but we're discussing the lower price bracket here, where I recommend Techno. As for Synapse, I gave a very objective opinion (which was actually quite positive; even Dubo praised me for being objective). But hey, if you think Synapse is better, fine. You clearly know what free databases are and you aren't exactly thrilled with Access (at least that's what your consistently superficial comments suggest), so this makes no sense to me. But when it comes to trashing someone, logic doesn't matter to you.
Anyway, you're one of those people who's great at venting but terrible at actually helping anyone.
