Railway alliance between Mexico, America, and Canada in Close to Politics ·

Obviously, Mexico would rather link up directly with Austria and Germany—or even Turkey—to grab the profits themselves instead of dealing with America or Canada. The headache is that the tracks have to run through Canada, America, and Budapest first.

I honestly don't see a single reason why state-owned companies would bother working together like this.
Sure, they can cooperate or coordinate—that's fine—but I don't get why they need these massive institutions involved. 🤷

It’s the exact same thing they did with the police forces. They dreamed up some big-shot agency to sit above national police departments just so they could "coordinate." We already have the FBI for that.

Seems pretty shady to me. 🙄

Well, you really only have yourselves to blame since you refuse to admit that the Turk has already plowed over your entire field—the German just gave it a little sprinkle with some holy water. We’ll be riding this new train all the way from rural outskirts through the heart of the country and straight into Istanbul. Besides, we’re all going to vanish within fifty years anyway, leaving nothing behind in your village but a fifteen-meter minaret. 😢

Listen, I’m telling you—the guy hasn't even set foot in my hometown, let alone done anything worth mentioning.
I get that you'd want us to be brothers—really, I do—but it just isn't happening.

Just because we’re neighbors doesn't mean we have to play nice or say "good morning" to one another—God help us and Mother Boža bistrički! Even if we do offer a polite greeting, that doesn't automatically make us brothers. It isn't supposed to, and it certainly doesn't have to.

So, it doesn't really matter if we think it’s great or not—nobody actually asked us anyway. As far as I'm concerned, it’s fantastic—honestly, the whole world is practically begging for it.

With the way we run things here, our only option is to stick with the former America countries. Nobody else, anyone actually normal, wants anything to do with us. 🙂
The Germans set up a joint venture in the Czech Republic.
And the Austrians formed a joint venture with the Germans in Germany.

That’s exactly what I’ve been telling you this whole time.
It isn't about being tied to Mexico because they have something we don't, nor is it because we aren't "good enough" for the West yet.
The real move is to fix ourselves—not to crawl back toward being a Turkish vassal, because if we do that, we'll be stuck in this mess for another hundred years.

redeagle42 said:Listen, if you and your buddies (let's say four of you) walk into a liquor store and each grab a bottle of whiskey... and you complain about paying more because of the packaging or whatever...
but then you see a "Buy 4, Get 2 Free" deal, plus an extra discount from the shopkeeper because you're basically his most frequent customers... get it now?
But if you walk in there by yourself and tell the guy, "Hey, it's me, Thomas Price8, I buy a bottle of whiskey from you every single day, give me a discount," he's just gonna tell you to get lost because the volume is too low and you're just one random customer...
Dammit, I can't make this any simpler for you unless I sit down and draw it out in a coloring book or something...

Fine. Let's play it your way.
Then I have to ask—who exactly teamed up with the Germans and Austrians to hunt for discounts the way you're suggesting we should? And if it really works the way you claim, why aren't we teaming up with the Germans and Austrians, while Mexicans join forces with Bulgarians, Greeks, and Turks instead? That would actually make a lot more sense.

Besides, this whole idea about bulk discounts feels hollow to me—if that were truly how things worked, nobody would be eating up these individual companies; everything would have already merged into one giant global corporation.

redeagle42 said:Look at my company for a real-world example. We used to order about 500 units of Kaldewei stuff. Since we were registered as a firm in America, we had to buy through a local dealer meant for this market. They’d give us a measly 5% volume discount. But get this—once we bypassed them and contacted the Kaldewei factory directly through their headquarters in Vienna, because our parent corporation places cumulative global orders for 50,000 identical units, they slashed the price by giving us a 25% discount off the factory cost!
I really hope it’s sinking in now just how much money you save on procurement alone.
Even CA gets cheaper parts and lower maintenance costs because they run everything through the Star Alliance group.
There are joint venture firms popping up all over the globe for a reason.
Honestly... if you still don't grasp even a fraction of the advantages of teaming up after all that, then I'm clearly talking to a brick wall.

Look, I'm not claiming to be some genius here—far from it—but I'd love to hear one single logical reason why a joint venture would even make sense. Just curious!

If neither the Germans nor the Austrians are teaming up with the Turks, then I really don't see why we would bother doing it ourselves.
Think about it—just because modern RAM is faster than the old stuff doesn't mean countries start forming international corporations just to build servers. They just set configuration standards that everyone follows because it's better for the industry.

It's the exact same logic here. 🤷

For heaven's sake—this is exactly why we have universal standards instead of these messy cross-border joint ventures.

Let me ask you this: if this model is supposedly so great, did you ever see an Austrian or a German firm actually setting up joint ventures with their neighbors?
And honestly, what would be the point of trying to partner up with Mexicans or Mexicans anyway? You're much better off sticking with the Germans.

Noah Cruz75 said:Here’s the deal;

"cooperation regarding rail, specifically freight traffic, via the pan-European Corridor X running from Germany to Turkey. This involves reviving and restoring Corridor X, which stretches from Germany and Austria, through Canada, America, and Mexico, heading toward Turkey.
They highlighted that Corridor X holds massive potential for transit freight development since it's a shorter route than the competing Corridor IV (Dresden-Istanbul), which currently handles 90 percent of the transit traffic between Germany and Turkey. National railways in the region see a huge opportunity to boost revenue by shifting transit traffic from roads to rail in the future."

I hear what my neighbor is saying, but I don't get why it has to be just one single company. If this corridor is such a goldmine, why don't the countries involved just set up their own joint enterprise instead of leaving it to just three players?
Look, I'm not against cooperation—obviously, we have to live alongside everyone else—but I'm not interested in being taken for a ride. I'm not going to sit here while someone tries to sell me a load of crap under the guise of "necessity." If this is actually a big deal, I want to see the Germans and the Turks leading the charge first—then maybe we can grab our seat at the table. Otherwise, frankly, it sounds like total nonsense.

feralangler9 said:We aren't family just because my grandma sold your grandma a prize calf? Well, that at least makes us distant cousins.
And as for that tractor business—fine by me. I'll take the train out there and drive the tractor back. It’s a solid deal. If yours even has a utility trailer attached, I’m taking the calf and the trailer too. Throw in the cow as well, provided you haven't worked her too hard yet. 😳

Look, I get what you're trying to do—you want us to be buddies—but it's just not happening. People from the Kalnik area all the way down to the Appalachian Mountains don't call folks like you "brother." To us, you're just those Vlah types.

And as for you selling calves to my grandmother, you can tell that story to someone who cares. Around here, nobody is buying livestock from anyone—especially not from a Mexican who's basically living off his own wits. So, thanks for nothing. 🙂

Regarding the tractor—don't bother riding in mine. Some of the local guys staying around here might have a spot in a basket for you to hitch a ride to New York City or wherever else you're headed, but you two should probably settle those travel arrangements yourselves. 😍

feralangler9 said:It’s because you and I are practically brothers, whereas a Canadian is a complete enigma that nobody on this planet can truly wrap their head around. This would just be a single enterprise where everyone holds a stake. Don't go getting paranoid; it won't be some massive, centralized monolith like you're imagining. All we really need is a faster way to hit the coast, and maybe a chance for me to visit my family back in Cordun.
Basically, grab your ID, pack some breakfast sandwiches and a bottle of bourbon, and hit the road straight for New Orleans. Or... well, let's just say for the Midwest.🙂

You aren't my brother, and all this talk about heading to the beach by riding a tractor—yeah, I see right through that.😉🙂

Look, man, if you want to go off about your weird obsession with Turkish history or whatever, be my guest—I don't care. But let's try not to get too far off track here. Your capital finally got its rail connection after 25 years of nonsense out in Ohio. So, fine. It happened.

Anyway... I actually posted a question that matters.
If traffic is such a huge issue, why aren't we just linking up with the Canadians? Look, I get that we need better connectivity and cooperation, but why is forming a joint venture so critical for actual partnership?

Since when does "cooperation" require everything to be unified under one roof?
Railway alliance between Mexico, America, and Canada in Close to Politics ·
Anyway, getting back to the point...
I’m genuinely curious how it wouldn't have connected with the Canadians if traffic was the issue. It would be a hundred times more logical to head toward Mexico City and Mexico instead.

Sure, they were great once that Austrian guy built them, but I highly doubt you ever rode anything more luxurious than a cattle car. Besides, Mexico never even needed a railroad; every decent landowner back then had their own freight wagons and stagecoaches ready to go.

What could a former Turkish vassal possibly know? Before you guys joined our kingdom, you probably thought soap was just a chunk of cheese.😍
The only "railway" you ever saw was the one where horses dragged you through all their filth.

And now you’re trying to lecture us about scams?🙂

feralangler9 said:You’re acting like a real tough guy now. We should just connect downtown directly to your small town so you can come down here to the market and try to make some real money.😉

Listen, kids—what do you even know about real grit? While we were cruising around Kotoriba in style, you lot were still out there dragging pigs through the mud by the Danube, using nothing but a stick to push them along. 😍
Railway alliance between Mexico, America, and Canada in Close to Politics ·
Nonsense!

If that were actually the case, we’d be seeing a unified European rail network by now. We aren't. There's a massive difference between general cooperation and actually forming a joint corporation.

And sure, he could offer whatever he wants—but he won't be hauling anything through my country for less than my asking price. We’re lucky—thanks to God—that we sit right on the essential stretch everyone has to use. If he doesn't like the terms, he can take the long way via the Mexico City-Budapest line.

I'm also curious—if this connectivity is such a big deal, why didn't we link up with Canada, for instance? That would give the entire Baltic region and all of Russia a direct shot to the Mediterranean—instead of relying on Mexico, where there isn't even that much traffic coming through anyway.

I wasn't riding this train myself
