Justifying one wrong with another? in Psychology ·
It honestly gets under my skin whenever someone tries to patronize me with comments like, "You shouldn't worry about this; just look at how much worse things are for someone else." It’s as if they’re implying I should somehow feel grateful for my own struggles because they aren't quite as catastrophic as someone else's misfortune. Instead of feeling better, I just end up feeling even more pathetic, dwelling on the hardships others are enduring, and I truly can't wrap my head around how anyone could find comfort in that kind of comparison.
