When you stare too long into the abyss, the abyss stares back into you

Into the abyss...
I’ve learned the hard way that whenever I adamantly, stubbornly, and most definitely said "no, no, and absolutely never" to something... well, that's exactly what life handed me on a silver platter. It’s actually kind of sick! Honestly, from here on out, I’m watching my words (and even my thoughts) very carefully.
In general, you can't really tackle a challenge until you actually face it head-on... regardless of how things turn out... otherwise, you'll just be left wondering if it was truly bad for you after you've already felt the sting personally. A challenge doesn't just show up unless it's something you are meant to learn during this lifetime (whether it lands in your lap or you go looking for trouble). We might have some say in our own destiny, but we can't wiggle out of karma... if a challenge comes from your karma and you try to dodge it or run away... a new one will just show up... identical to the first... only this time it'll be more relentless and better equipped to break you. You simply cannot learn the lesson if you keep avoiding it... you have to feel it with your entire being, become 100% certain of who you are and what you want... only then will these temptations stop chasing you down.
