Bank account frozen: What should I do?
in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Hey everyone,
I’ve got a situation, and honestly, I’m too embarrassed to bring this up to anyone in my actual life. A couple of years ago, in what I now realize was a moment of questionable judgment, I signed up for a phone contract. Things got tight, and I fell behind on the payments. I missed everything from last November until February, when I finally got hit with a notice saying they were going to freeze my account and start collections. I have a checking account at Chase that I need to use to deposit some money I earned working a campus job, but I’m spiraling. Does anyone know if they'll block my account immediately? If they haven't yet, how long do I have before it happens? And will they just snatch that $200 the second it hits my balance? Not sure what my next move should be..
