My lawn is dying—any tips? in Real Estate ·
You could easily salt his tail. Honestly, you might even want to call the local code enforcement officer to report him for failing to mow the lawn or clear the sand from the driveway. When I mentioned that the property isn't yours, my point was this: if you waived those rights when you secured your building permit, then it’s no longer yours; however, if you haven't officially signed those rights away, then it is absolutely your responsibility, and I would personally suggest placing the boundary even closer to the street just to force him to turn around. It is truly delightful when someone fills up a trailer with corn and then attempts to pull a U-turn on your freshly manicured lawn—especially when the grass is still a bit damp.

Now, look, conceding a meter or two from the edge of the road isn't really an option if you want that building permit approved, but that certainly doesn't mean you can't set down some larger stones or perhaps a few sturdy bollards near the street to ensure people stop parking on your property or attempting those clumsy U-turns right in front of your driveway.
