Wage garnishments and collections in Law ·
Thanks for the reply, John Clark6!
I've been calling them non-stop for an hour now, but I just keep getting hit with the automated system saying all their operators are busy.
I wonder if it's even possible to negotiate a structured repayment plan with them. Who knows how much more interest and those extra fees they're piling on at this point?

More importantly, will I actually be able to register my car this Monday? I absolutely need it for work. My biggest worry is whether they'll block the registration entirely—since I unfortunately get paid under the table, I'm really in a tight spot here.

Hi there.
I need some help. Today I received a letter from the Law Firm regarding a debt owed to T-Mobile.

The subject line says LEVY PROCEEDINGS.

Basically, they’re notifying me that I owe $500 T-Mobile, plus interest and legal fees, and that I need to settle the total amount of $500 by paying T-Mobile directly and providing proof of payment.

Otherwise, they claim they will proceed with further enforcement actions.
They also mention that an enforcement order has already been issued against my assets.

Here’s the thing: the debt is real, but I've already paid half of it. This is just the remaining balance, which I fully intend to pay off. I don't get this part about the levy having already started—I never actually received any official court order or notice.
Is this letter itself considered the official enforcement order?
Has the levy actually taken effect yet?

I just got this letter today. I've tried calling them several times, but I can't get anyone on the line. I'll keep trying, but I want to know if I can negotiate a payment plan for the remaining amount in two installments. Also, how much are the interest and fees? They aren't specified in this letter; it only lists the principal debt.

One more thing—I have to register my car this Monday, and I absolutely need it for work. Now I'm freaking out thinking it might be under a lien. I don't have any other significant assets or cash lying around. Will I be able to register the car if it's currently subject to a levy?

Thanks in advance for any answers or help!
