Wage garnishments and collections in Law ·
So, I ran into a bit of a mess today, and I'm wondering if anyone here actually has a sane answer, because the folks over at the IRS are anything but polite...🙂

Basically, my account is frozen—I've got a levy on it—but apparently, they track everything via my SSN, so whatever... One time I made about $333 online, and naturally, the levy snatched it up in a heartbeat. Ever since then, I've been living on checks and trying to dodge the banks as much as possible...🙂

Today, I actually took second place in a photography contest and won $267, but the catch is they have to deposit it into a checking account or some other stupid way, which just means my debt is gonna eat that money alive...:/

The bank teller told me there’s this thing called a protected account that bypasses levies, and suggested I head down to the IRS to get the details... Long story short, they told me no. They gave me basically zero explanation, probably because I had black nail polish on, so I immediately became the lowest form of life in the eyes of some clueless clerk behind the counter...

So, does anyone know if I can actually open that kind of account? And if not, why not...?:d

Thanks...🙂
