IRS and Tax Filing Issues in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Jose Myers said:Just give their help desk a call and find out what's actually broken. Honestly, those guys mess things up all the time.
They’ve got one company listed on my digital profile that doesn't even show up on my account statement, and then there's another company where nothing seems to be processing at all.

It's true, that was exactly the issue! Thanks everyone!

So what am I supposed to do then?! If the CEO insists on having the certificate registered under his own firm, but I'm acting as the outside accounting firm and don't have power of attorney—and frankly, I'm not going to get it—what happens next? Am I expected to jump through some ridiculous bureaucratic hoop just so these forms can actually go through? It's absurd...

So, I’m the accountant for this firm, right? And they recently started using the IRS e-file system. They have their own digital certificate and everything... So, I prepare the forms perfectly, send them over, and they upload them to the portal. But here’s the kicker: they list me as the individual who prepared the form, and—get this—it keeps getting rejected because the signature isn't authorized. It’s infuriating! My question is... is this happening because they’re naming me as the preparer when I don't actually have a formal Power of Attorney on file? Or is there some other ridiculous technical glitch causing this headache?
