I just need to clear up two things....
Does choosing a primary care doctor depend on where you live?
(Like... if I'm living over in Remetinec, am I forced to pick a doctor from their specific local clinic?)
Anyway, I just moved to Chicago, coming from a tiny town where we didn't really have neighborhoods—just one big community center for the whole town and a lot of chaos. 🙂
If that's how it works... then can anyone recommend a good GP from the Remetinec clinic? I couldn't find anything online, maybe they aren't listed or I'm just looking in the wrong places. 🙂
Actually, no—where you live doesn't dictate which primary care doctor you pick. Your address only matters when it comes to which local Medicare branch you register with as a patient under your chosen physician.
For instance, you could live in Trešnjevka, but your doctor's office is way over in Central Park.
- You go to the doctor first and ask them to take you on as a patient. They'll give you a completed Physician Selection Form.
- Then, you have to head over to Jukić to get that form officially stamped by Medicare.
- Once you bring that signed form back to the doctor, you're officially their patient. They'll probably ask you to bring your medical records along too.
If you're living in Remetinec, the Medicare branch is right near the Police station.
