Scarlet, if you want to look into the whole amphetamine thing, there’s an article on Wikipedia about antidepressants that covers it. You really didn't need to delete my post, though. I was asking a legitimate question. When you're dealing with depression, your brain just... slows down. It feels sluggish. Sometimes you need a nudge to get things moving again. For instance, some doctors actually suggest sleep deprivation as a sort of reset, because the brain has to work overtime just to stay awake, which can stimulate the cortex—and in people struggling with depression, that area often atrophies. See what I mean? Why my question mattered? 🙂

Even in democracies, free speech feels more like a myth than a reality. It makes you wonder what these democratic nations are actually aiming for when they go out of their way to provoke Muslims. On one hand, there’s clearly a need for progress within the Islamic world, but on the other, it’s hard to say how much of that is even feasible or what the endgame looks like. I honestly worry that humanity will be weighed down by these cultural divides for a very long time, perhaps until our current systems simply fail to bridge the gap. Personally, I’ve started putting my faith in science and technology—maybe they'll be the only thing capable of balancing the scales between such different groups of people. 🙂

Anthony Hayes2, your whole response is built on nothing but assumptions. I’ve actually lived through depression myself, whereas you... well, what exactly are your credentials here?

steelpanther11, do you ever find yourself dwelling on suicide? How often does it cross your mind? It seems to me you're showing classic signs of depression, or at least a heavy streak of negativity. I’ve been through all of that myself. Now, I'm just in the final stages.
