Gerald Torres2 said:About a year and a half ago, bioenergy work completely wiped out my agoraphobia. It only took four sessions. It hasn't come back since, which is wild, because before that, I couldn't even dream of stepping foot outside without feeling like I was going to pass out. It also significantly dialed down my anxiety at the time, though obviously, that fluctuates whenever new stressors pop up....
But the agoraphobia—the thing that basically cut me off from the entire world—is gone, and hopefully, it stays that way forever. I am endlessly grateful to those bioenergy practitioners for making that happen. And just to be clear, this happened while I wasn't on any medication; it was right after I stopped taking my pills, when things were at their absolute worst. 😍

I cured my agoraphobia on my own, just using my own damn strength. I was twenty then and had zero clue what was actually happening to me; I didn't even realize I was dealing with a mental health issue. once you actually become aware of it, though, it gets harder to fight. at least that's how it felt for me, because I started identifying too much with those *damn diagnoses I carry. :/
energy healing helped me a little bit with anxiety this past summer, but I guess you'd have to go every single day for months to see anything lasting. and who actually has that kind of money? not me. 🙂

So, what’s the move here?
Has anyone actually found success with alternative treatments?

Honestly, I feel like I've tried everything under the sun since summer. Bioenergetics, chakra cleansing, homeopathy, all those self-help gimmicks—EFT, positive affirmations, the Sedona Method, meditation, yoga... you name it. After all that, I ended up feeling WORSE THAN EVER. Total disaster. So yeah, I’m officially crawling back to conventional medicine. Ugh. Just... ugh.

I went off my antidepressant about two months ago after being on it for nearly three years. It didn't take long, either—just a blink and suddenly the depression came roaring back, worse than it ever was before. 😢
Now I’m back on it for the second day, but it feels completely different. It used to knock me right out, which helped, but now? Now it’s actually giving me insomnia.
Can anyone make sense of this? I get that everyone reacts differently to medication, but how did I turn into a totally different person in just eight weeks?

David Bishop4 said:It should turn out fine; you really have to give your body some grace and time to adjust to all these different chemicals we're introducing. 😉

Yeah... honestly, my system barely recovered from the last round of nonsense and now we're back at square one. 🙂))
The other day—my doctor actually asks me, "What on earth are you doing to yourself?"

Hopefully things settle down soon. Thanks for the support. 🙂

First day after last night's Mirage. I can't really say it "hit me" quite as hard as it used to. 😢 Though, honestly, maybe that's just because I’m feeling pretty rough right now... :/
Managed about three hours of solid sleep, then another five with those weird, disjointed naps and nonsensical dreams. Feeling a bit dizzy today.
I'm supposed to start my initial dose of Prozac today, too. But I think I'll hold off. Might be a bit much for my system to handle all at once. 😢

David Bishop4 said:I think I understand exactly what you mean; right now, I feel completely incapable of handling even the smallest tasks. Of course, I'll be checking back in—you guys aren't getting rid of me that easily. 😉 You too, please reach out. It always feels a little lighter when we can vent to one another and, God willing, share some wins along the way.😉

Hopefully we'll have something worth celebrating soon! 😍

One more time, though... anyone have experience with Citalopram? Ideally if you've been getting it through CVS or something similar.

David Bishop4 said:You aren't alone in this; I feel the exact same way, and I'm actually heading back to an AD that worked wonders for me a few years ago. It just feels like the panic attacks are hitting harder lately, leaving me in this constant state of tension and dread. I'm just praying that this phase passes too. Good luck with your AD—we're going to be okay, we have to be!

It has to improve. Things can't stay this dark forever... 😢

And then there's all these medications... I swear, ever since I stopped taking them, I feel more depressed than I did before I ever started the first round... it's like a cycle that won't end.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words. I'm crossing my fingers for you and hoping your treatment holds steady. Keep us posted, okay? Mostly. 🙂

I'll give it a shot, thanks. 😉

this damn insecurity of mine... 🙂

Melissa Sanchez59 said:If it worked well for you before, maybe it'll do the trick again this time 🙂

That sounds almost too optimistic. 😉
You know that feeling... when everything is so heavy you're convinced it’s just permanent, like nothing is ever going to change again? My anxiety just spikes the second I start wondering if the AD won't actually kick in this time. :/

Melissa Sanchez59 said:I honestly don't get all this talk about Mirzaten. I've been on Calixta for eight days now, and it actually knocked me out on the first day—period. But then Thursday afternoon hit, and this insane anxiety just took over. I took my 15 mg Calixta and 0.5 mg Seroxat in the evening, but an hour or two later, everything felt even worse. I knew I had to be up for work in the morning, and I was spiraling thinking about how tomorrow would be a total disaster if I couldn't sleep. Usually, I’ll just take another 0.5 mg of quick-acting Seroxat to calm down eventually, but this felt unbearable, so I figured I'd just take some Ambien to, I don't know, basically pass out quickly and be done with it. I took 10 mg of Ambien, laid down, and spent the next hour tossing and turning in bed until I realized I wasn't going to sleep at all. I ended up getting up to light... a candle, I guess? I felt a little woozy, but I was wide awake and still feeling anxious. Eventually, I just put on a movie and somehow, finally, managed to settle down and drift off... HOW? 🙂

I'm currently hunting down every single thing I can find about Mirzaten because I'm switching back to it tonight. :/
I have no idea how it's going to hit me this time. I'm dealing with desperate anxiety and I'm deep in a depressive hole right now, but I know that in the past, during similar stretches, Mirzaten always managed to get me to sleep. Well, with a few exceptions... My main priority right now is fixing this depression, which I didn't really have while on Mirzaten, even though my anxiety was pretty bad then. But ever since I stopped taking it, everything has just gone downhill fast...

Scott Alvarez22 said:Thanks,

Did you also deal with dizziness, nausea, or restlessness from the Prozac, and what kind of dosages were you starting on versus what you moved to later?

If I understood correctly, you were on Zoloft 1 day? That’s exactly what the instructions suggest, and I can personally confirm that those "very common" side effects are almost a guarantee during those first 3 to 15 days. Once you get past that, the anxiety stays fairly well managed, but it never truly lets go of you completely.

you have to be careful with Mirzaten if your blood pressure is on the lower side. and yeah, now that you mention it—I definitely had bouts of dizziness from it. it would hit for a few days and then just stop, happened a couple of times like that. didn't get the nausea or the restlessness, though... not like when I was on Zoloft or VELOFAX. I know I probably should have toughed it out longer, but the thing is, I usually don't even start an AD until I'm already feeling pretty terrible on my own, and then you pile all these side effects on top of that—ugh. I just can't seem to power through it. :/

starting Mirzaten today. my starting dose is always 15mg.
I was supposed to take 45mg, but I didn't... stayed at 30mg max.

Scott Alvarez22 said:Prozac

I'm looking for some firsthand accounts regarding Prozac, if anyone has them—specifically how it stacks up against Zoloft or Effexor?

I feel like I’ve already rambled on about Prozac quite a bit here. 🙂
For me, it actually had the fewest side effects. Well, except for that first time I took it—I think I slept for like 36 hours straight. After a week, though, that heavy feeling was gone. I was sleeping like a baby, and the depression finally started backing off after a few months of use (mostly, anyway). Sadly, the anxiety ended up ramping up over time, but honestly, that was mostly just due to some stuff going on in my life...
With Effexor and Zoloft, I was constantly nauseous. I felt aggressive, restless, wired, and my heart would just race... the anxiety was physically painful. And that was after only taking one dose of each. I don't think I could have survived two days of those side effects.

Justin Rogers5 said:No, I mean, isn't Mirzaten Ad the antidepressant?😕I take it with 5mg of Zoloft and a quarter of a Seroquel and I'm out—usually don't wake up until noon. I go to bed around 2 or 3 depending. When I'm unemployed, I take something extra to sleep, but when I'm working, just the 5mg of Zoloft does the trick. Last night was a disaster. I couldn't sleep at all. Took the Mirzaten Ad and a quarter of Seroquel, but nothing worked. Spent the whole night shaking like I'd swallowed a vibrator; my stomach was churning and I felt like I was gonna throw up from the nerves. Then I made the mistake of taking another quarter of Seroquel because my brain just told me to 🙂. I was shaking like a leaf all night. Barely made it to 7 AM after standing around feeling exhausted, then finally popped some Xanax and another 15mg of Mirzaten Ad and passed out. Finally.🙄

Yeah, it is an AD, but they often bundle it with other ADs because apparently, it doesn't quite hit the mark for depression and anxiety. 😢From what I hear from others, it's mostly just good for sleep. Though, if you ask me, my depression didn't hit quite as hard while I was on it; now that I've stopped, it feels like a daily thing. :/
I feel for you regarding the insomnia. What you described sounds brutal. 😢I was lucky enough that 15 mg would knock me out every single night, even when I was feeling super tense. Maybe once or twice I couldn't sleep (full moon, daylight savings, whatever), but it would only last a night or two before it started working again.
But if I'm reading you right, besides the lack of sleep, are you still dealing with the depression? That's why I'm thinking maybe they should throw another AD into the mix for you.

Justin Rogers5 said:I take the lowest dose just to sleep. It doesn't do anything for my depression, but it helps the anxiety. Problem is, I get memory gaps from it. Sometimes I'll accidentally double up on the dose and have zero recollection of it. Then my joints, muscles, and bones just throb in the middle of the night. Basically, whenever I realize I doubled up, the pain starts hitting me the next day when I go back to my regular dose.🤷

Ugh, it's crazy how differently we all react to this stuff. 😢
It worked wonders for my depression, but for anxiety? Not a bit. :/
I just slept great, though. I think I’m going back on it this weekend because I’ve burned through all my Ambien, and frankly, my nerves are shot. I'm just chronically exhausted. Between the anxiety eating away at my brain and only getting maybe 4 or 5 hours of sleep with a few wake-ups here and there... it's a lot.

🙂

Are you taking any other antidepressants alongside it?

I think I’m about to start taking Remeron along with my Zoloft.
Has anyone actually tried this combo before? Any experiences?

Justin Rogers5 said:Remeron's got my bones and muscles aching like hell, joints too.

Now this is getting interesting. Ever since I GOT OFF Remeron, my muscles and bones have been aching every single night. I've been sitting here wondering if there’s actually a link to withdrawal syndrome... 😢

What are you taking Remeron for exactly, and how does it usually affect you?

Gerald Torres2 said:See, that high-energy feeling actually works for me. It has lasted all this time, and the lack of sleep doesn't really bother me; I just pop an anxiolytic if I need to crash. If I could just manage my own dosage, I'd bump my Wellbutrin up to 300 mg for a while and pair it with an AD that actually calms things down and kills the anxiety at night, and I'd be golden. But then again, which psychiatrist wouldn't take offense at an idea like that?? 😕

Too much Xanax just makes me feel more depressed. 😢
I mean, I could use a boost too, but the Wellbutrin only gave me that kick on day one. After that, it wasn't energy—it was just pure jitters.

There are definitely doctors like that. My therapist actually asks me what I want to be taking. Like... how should I know? Honestly. 😢 Don't go trying to play doctor with your own meds, though. 😁

sorry, the forum's been acting up and glitching out on me, so I’m just now seeing that you already jumped in with an answer. 😁

Jason Vaughn482 said:I only took Effexor for exactly one day; nausea, tremors, jitters, insomnia... I honestly thought I was going crazy (which, let's face it, is a frequent thought of mine 😁). I told myself; screw this, if the side effects are this bad immediately, it's just not for me. :/

I was on Mirtazapine for three years. In the beginning, it basically brought me back from the dead because I finally started sleeping after nearly a year and a half of insomnia! 🙂
And then I started recovering. Everything felt a little brighter, a little easier, though I never quite reached that feeling of being "fully alive," if you know what I mean... 😉
But about a year ago, I was under a hellish amount of stress and started getting anxious again—just terribly tense and worried most of the time. Mirtazapine didn't do anything for that part; it just kept me sleeping, and it wasn't like everything was hopeless, like it at least kept the depression under control. Then I turned toward alternative stuff and quit Mirtazapine pretty abruptly... now I feel like I should probably start taking it again because of the insomnia, but somehow that feels like a defeat. :/ So I just push through and suffer. And believe me, I am suffering.

So, aren't you on anything right now? How are you holding up?

What dose of Mirzaten were you taking? I used it solely for insomnia, but it didn't really work for me; I was on 15 mg, and now, after a year, I’m cutting that 15 mg in half just to get some rest, and I only use it for that purpose, even though I take Sanval alongside it... Did you notice any weight gain from it? I put on about six pounds and can't seem to shed them, even though I didn't have any other side effects.
I was only on 15 mg for sleeping, too. Maybe that's why it wasn't even working the way it was supposed to.
And yeah, I did. I gained a few pounds almost immediately once I started. My appetite went through the roof—total opposite of how I feel now. Nowadays, just the thought of food makes my stomach turn, so I finally managed to drop all the weight I put on while I was on the medication. 😢

Are you taking any other Apple Inc. alongside it?

Alright, one more question for everyone on Wellbutrin; has anyone actually felt... amazing? And I mean consistently, over years?
I’m not talking about those standard bad days everyone deals with. I mean a long-term lift where the symptoms just sort of recede into the background. 😢(((
