placidlynx43 said:So, now we’ve got Moody's downgrading banks in the USA, and honestly? I wouldn't be surprised if the big US banks are next on the chopping block. It makes me nervous that those levels at 1523/1526 could get absolutely shredded—I'm legitimately worried we might see a slide down toward 1460-1470. If that happens, mining stocks are going to get absolutely massacred. That's why I dropped the link to Kim Kardashian's comment earlier. To be real with you guys, I think we're staring down the barrel of some major bank failures and full-blown bank runs... basically entering a deflationary depression that could drag on for a while. My gut says we aren't seeing any more Quantitative Easing this year.

Always some conspiracy theory going around 😍. Paper gold and paper silver... what about oil? Nobody is actually buying physical barrels of oil, right? There's tons of manipulation there.
If I remember correctly, gold totally took off after that AAA credit rating downgrade last year!

Why aren't central banks in the USA, Germany, France, Italy, or Switzerland stacking up gold while Russia and China go on a massive buying spree?
What's the secret intel these Western nations have that China and Russia are totally missing out on?

After months of getting hammered, gold finally snapped like a coiled spring! Once the Federal Reserve Bank of New York confirmed the "recovery" is officially toast, everyone realized the Fed basically has zero options left besides hitting that print button.

😂

Man, those guys over at Goldman Sachs seriously know how to crack me up.

Who on earth is actually buying this stuff?

Seriously though, what else is actually growing besides Dow Chemical? 😍

Super read on the dollar being the world's reserve currency. This thing is just loaded with oxymorons! 😍

The only thing I actually take Ben Bernanke at his word on is that he won't allow money to deflate—given current monetary policy, that’s practically impossible. They're essentially forced to keep printing just by the way money is created now.
Is there any number too big for them? 15 trillion? 30? 50? 100? I doubt it. At the start, QE was officially set at $700 billion, but it turns out they quietly funneled trillions to banks and corporations globally to bail them out, which really just delayed their inevitable collapse.
The Federal Reserve is making the same mistake as the ECB—thinking they can print their way out of problems when history has proven a thousand times over that you can't. No economic issue has ever been solved simply by printing paper.
I’m not saying precious metals are the only good store of value, but for most people here, they are. For me, the ultimate assets are land with drinkable water and actual knowledge.
The Federal Reserve has clung to one last step to maintain the illusion of safety in Treasury bills—buying them themselves using money conjured out of thin air. If I'm not mistaken, the Federal Reserve already accounts for more than half of all Treasury bill buyers. Mathematically, that illusion has to burst; it’s just a matter of which major player finally shouts, "The Emperor has no clothes!" You can't pretend everything is fine forever. And honestly, you can forget about a semi-normal life in the USA if oil producers suddenly decide to stop accepting the dollar. Dammit, we already have 50 million people on food stamps, unemployment is hovering around 20%, and our industrial base has been gutted and moved to China... how are we supposed to maintain any semblance of normalcy with such minimal systemic changes? I don't see it happening.
Thinking "it doesn't suit anyone, so it won't happen" is just burying your head in the sand.
Besides, precious metals don't even track the money supply. Newly mined gold and silver have only increased by 1-2% annually over the last decade, while paper inflation sits at 9-10%.
Take M1, M2, or M3 and calculate what the price of gold in dollars should be to actually track the money supply—you know, if the dollar were 100% backed by gold.

What would gold and silver prices look like if the dollar were actually backed by gold? Are we talking $10,000 for gold and $200 for silver?

A world without precious metals or actual cash?

Look at that—platinum is actually trading higher than gold. Maybe we should've put our money there instead! 😍

I’m telling you for the millionth time: if those massive cartels have been rigging the gold and silver markets for years, why on earth would you think they won't keep doing it for decades to come?
Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
I’ve got a feeling we aren't seeing those massive metal gains this year. These big-bank types always find a way to mask what's actually happening. The market looks green, but honestly, it'll stay that way right up until the presidential elections.
They're the ones pulling all the strings. Personally, I don't see them ever truly separating physical assets from paper ones because I doubt we're headed for hyperinflation or some massive panic-buying spree in metals. Still, you've gotta stay sharp. It’s pretty wild watching the Federal Reserve run these stress tests on the major US banks. Where are they even getting the data for those tests, and why bother if the economy is supposedly bouncing back?
Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
Gold is bouncing back, LOL! Looking at these 10-year charts, it seems like it usually takes about a year for gold and silver to fully recover.

It’s wild watching gold and silver climb for two months straight just to tank in a single afternoon. Then you wait another two months, only for them to crash again—it’s a nonstop cycle! You guys can argue about manipulation all you want, but the bottom line is that the big whales always win this game. They can rig things however they please. When do you honestly think they'll ever stop?

Anthony Evans78 said:Technical analysis is basically a joke at this point in a world built on manipulation, theft, and lies.
The dollar, along with every other fiat currency, is a zombie; it’s just a matter of when it finally bites. Precious metals are the only thing with real value—everything else is just an illusion.
Word on the street is that Wall Street is prepping for a "formal" Greek bankruptcy on March 23rd, right after the markets close for the weekend. It's the same old playbook: drop the bombshell on a Friday, let the chaos simmer over the weekend, and watch the madness unfold in the casinos—sorry, the stock exchanges—across the globe on Monday. If we look at what happened in Argentina, Greece is likely headed for bank closures and withdrawal limits. That's the reward you get for trusting corrupt institutions with your money.
Rating agencies are the absolute peak of nepotism and hypocrisy; even thinking about them makes me sick. And let's be honest, the USA isn't even the world's largest economy, unless you count financial sorcery that produces zero actual value as "growth."
Gold can't even go down when the USA, the European Union, the Japanese people, and the UK have all started their printing presses. It might see some corrections, but in this environment, the upward trend is inevitable.

I honestly don't get it. You really think that's how this plays out?? Nothing like that is actually going to happen. They’ll just bail them out and hand over the cash! End of story. A Greek default would trigger a massive domino effect across Europe and then hit the USA hard. It’s way easier for them to just print more money and call it a day.

Anthony Evans78 said:Warren Buffett is nothing more than a parasite and a textbook example of crony capitalism. For the last thirty years, he’s just been padding his pockets through ventures that were either subsidized or bailed out by the US government, if not others globally.
Not to mention those massive stock dumps he pulled right before companies went belly up.

Better to jump in five years early than miss out by just one day!😍

ironstag8 said:A Permanent State of Gold Backwardation

It All Traces Back to the Debt Bubble

...Ever since that period, we've seen debt expand at an almost impossible rate across the entire American economy. It’s become this massive, self-perpetuating cycle—debt being used to collateralize more debt, built upon layers of existing debt, and aggressively leveraged with even more debt on top of it all.

If backwardation settles in as a permanent fixture, it signifies a total breakdown of confidence in the gold futures market. We aren't talking about commodities like corn or wheat here; we're talking about a scenario where millions of individuals and major Wall Street institutions hold vast amounts of physical gold. They could easily dump it into the spot market and cover their positions through futures, but if they collectively decide that isn't worth the risk, we're looking at the terminal stage of our modern financial architecture.

The endgame occurs when gold effectively stops responding to paper-based demand altogether. Once that happens, the appetite for gold in the paper markets becomes theoretically infinite—and that is precisely why the paper market is destined to crumble if it lacks actual gold to back it up.

Man, people have been talking about this forever and nothing ever happens. It’s like they'll never actually trade those paper gains for real gold!

Once that floodgates finally open, you might want to find somewhere to hide.
And ideally, that hiding spot is made of gold and silver. 😉

But when is that actually gonna happen? Or is it even happening at all? I'm reading that JPMorgan Chase totally cleared their issues. Everyone was freaking out saying once the first big bank goes under, it’s an instant bank run and total chaos, but nothing happened.
Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
Even though the Federal Reserve, Bank of England, Federal Reserve, and Bank of Japan all said they’d just print money forever, gold prices in those currencies haven't even budged!😂
