Student-teacher dynamics vs. parent-teacher dynamics

Dear princess,
I imagine this is tough for you, but I guess it might be best not to make school life any harder for your child. If I were in your shoes, I’d probably head straight to that teacher first (and maybe the homeroom teacher too) to have a polite conversation about what happened, much like how you explained things to us earlier. If she’s generally a good person, she’ll likely feel bad and try to make things right with your kid on her own. As for an apology—well, it doesn't really count unless it's sincere. An apology forced under pressure doesn't help anyone. It seems like a better idea to try resolving things directly with the teacher rather than immediately reporting it to the principal. I trust you'll handle everything the right way. Good luck.
