That was so beautifully put!🙂)
I’m honestly a little worried because I feel like I’ve had that same magnetic pull toward things that ended up totally derailing my life in the end🙂))
Looking at what you wrote, I think I only went through that phase once—it was just a weird few months during one specific chapter of my life....
@ironharbor8—I’m certain there’s a soul and a person, two separate things, where the soul moves on to another world while the body stays behind. I truly believe this because I’ve been right there at the bedside when loved ones were passing away, and I've seen others experience that exact same thing when they say goodbye to someone. It all sounds like some old wives' tale until you actually live it—that’s how I felt too, honestly. Plus, I’ve had these intense precognitive dreams about major life events, sometimes even years before they actually happened. After everything I've been through, I’ve become quite a spiritual person, even though I wasn't raised that way and I don't really go to church or anything, but I definitely consider myself a deeply faithful person..
When you guys started diving into that whole cancer topic—specifically colon cancer—it really got me thinking. I spent quite a bit of time digging through some medical journals and research papers, and here’s what I gathered: for someone to actually develop colon cancer, there usually has to be a genetic predisposition involved. But, here’s the kicker that science still hasn't quite nailed down—why is it that out of all the people carrying that specific gene, some get sick while others stay perfectly healthy? It’s one of those massive scientific gaps that remains totally unresolved, and honestly, some of the theories floating around feel like they lean more toward spirituality than hard biology.
I mean, even some doctors seem to think that the gene for the disease gets "switched on" when someone goes through a major life trauma or a massive emotional shock. Looking at what my own close friends and family have gone through, I truly believe that theory holds water—that's exactly what triggered the gene and led to such devastating illnesses. In my own view, sometimes people subconsciously retreat from life into sickness... maybe because they just don't have the strength to keep fighting, or perhaps as a way to teach the people around them a hard lesson... but I also firmly believe it’s a conscious choice made by the SOUL... driven by its own will... regardless of the underlying motive.
(And just to be clear, I wrote "choice of the SOUL," not the choice of the person...)
I think ironharbor8 pretty much nailed it—she hit the nail right on the head regarding what I was actually getting at when I first started this thread. It wasn’t really about morality or how "heavy" the journey feels, more like... I don't know, this sense of destiny we all have to fulfill throughout our lives? Like, for some people, even committing a crime or landing in prison might actually be their true path—it's the specific thing they need to go through to finally learn something or have an epiphany...
Personally, though, I'm really struggling because I can just feel it in my gut—I know I've drifted way off the track I was supposed to be on, and honestly, I can't seem to find my way back no matter how hard I try... but maybe ironharbor8 is onto something... everything happens in its own time, when it's meant to be... still, I'm definitely starting to feel this massive, overwhelming urge to get back on my rightful path....
Look, spiritual growth is obviously huge in this whole equation, but if you ask me, the real secret sauce is finding that sweet spot—that balance and peace where you’re living in sync with everything around you. It’s about contributing, too. And I don’t just mean being selfishly "zen" for your own sake—I mean actually giving back to society and the community you live in. I really don't think that just sitting under a tree chanting mantras in India is enough, even if you've reached some insanely high level of enlightenment. To me, you need that actual engagement—you need to take all that inner work you've done and turn it into something tangible that helps the people around you.
For instance, the way I look at true spiritual maturity is through someone like Mother Teresa. She didn't just meditate; she lived her spirituality out loud and gave of herself every single day. Compare that to some yogi in India who just sits under a tree chanting away, totally detached and "elevated." Yeah, the first one? That’s what I’m talking about! That's the real deal.
I don't really buy the idea that spiritual growth should be the end goal itself—it’s more like... I don't know, a side effect? Something that just kind of happens along the way.
But look, at the end of the day, I honestly couldn't care less what your specific life goal actually is. Everyone is chasing something different, right? One person wants to build a tech empire in Silicon Valley, another just wants a quiet life in the suburbs—it's all subjective. What I was actually trying to get at was whether you feel like you're actually moving in the right direction toward whatever that goal might be for you.
I’m totally with you on this—you don't need two people to be happy, at least not on a soul level. Happiness isn't some thing that just lands on your doorstep from the outside world, either. Real happiness—or even a connection with Bob—is something that has to come from deep within ourselves.
Honestly, I really don't want this thread to spiral into a massive debate about whether or not we actually need a romantic partner or whatever. We see enough of those "lonely hearts" style discussions all over the internet already. So, please, let's just stick to the actual topic here: —which is—do you feel like you're actually on the right track in life right now? Thanks!
So, let me ask you guys something—are you actually on the right track? Like, do you honestly feel like you are, or are you just kind of drifting through the motions?
So, how do you even define a "good person"?
And more importantly—how do you actually stay one in this crazy world we’re living in right now?
@David Green11, I’m totally with you on how you see things... I just wanted to clear up 🙂
I mean, yeah, when everything is clicking, life just feels easy and smooth... but there are always red flags popping up everywhere... it really just comes down to whether we choose to ignore them or actually face them...🙂
As for figuring out the whole "meaning of life" thing? Honestly, I think I'll just wait until I'm dead to solve that one... because right now, in this lifetime, I am just not built for it, truthfully 🙂
Honestly? I think he was a total mistake. Looking back, he cost me way too much—emotionally, mentally, just everything—and I went through hell because of it. And please, don't give me that "everything happens for a reason" or "it was a lesson learned" crap... I’d much rather have lived my life without that brutal lesson, if I'm being real. He was basically a massive distraction that pulled me away from someone actually worth my time... but yeah, whatever...
Since we’re talking about guys—and this is something I’ve noticed looking back at him specifically—it seems like whenever someone genuinely good comes along, some "distraction" pops up out of nowhere. Or maybe an ex resurfaces... it’s like a test, or a challenge, or just a way to knock you off the highway... and I guess it all just boils down to how mature you are—whether you let yourself get sidetracked or if you actually choose the right person...
At first, I thought I was just overthinking things, but I’ve seriously started noticing a pattern: whenever I start growing spiritually or when a truly great guy enters the picture, these "distractions" start crawling out of the woodwork. Have you guys ever felt like that? Like it's almost a cosmic interference?
As for that guy who was such a disaster... man, there were so many red flags and warning signs everywhere, but I just completely ignored them. It was like a bad movie—he’d "lose" my number, I’d lose my phone, we’d miss each other constantly... just one ridiculous obstacle after another. I really should have stopped and realized what those signs were trying to tell me, but nope... I just charged ahead like a total idiot and, well, here we are. 🙂
@David Green11, man, I envy you 🙂 do you actually feel like that was some kind of reward for all your hard work and effort—or did it just happen out of nowhere?
I remember feeling that exact same way just once in my life, and then—well, things went sideways. I ran into the wrong guy, and instead of just shutting that down, I ended up folding. I let him pull me right off my path of peace and stability... and honestly? I lost nearly five years of my life to it. Now, I'm basically just trying to find my way back to my own lane again...
Why am I even bringing this up? It's just because it feels like other people have this power to knock us off our good path if we aren't careful enough not to cave...
If we’re talking about those little moments of synchronicity—well, they’ve been hitting me left and right lately on the most random, trivial levels... which usually happens right when I feel like I’m finally shifting gears in life, you know? Like, once I unstick myself from a rut or make even a tiny quantum leap forward, everything just starts lining up...
I actually had this wild thing happen with my money recently... I was trying to move some USD from one account over to another... but because of some glitch, the system somehow converted it all into something else entirely... at first, I was honestly pretty pissed off, but then it hit me—maybe this was a sign? So, instead of fighting it, I took that money and bought something that actually holds its value long-term...
The thing is, why would that even happen? Deep down, I’ve been terrified that the dollar might lose its edge... I’ve been sitting on this idea for ages about pivoting my savings into something more stable, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. I didn't have the guts. But then, boom—synchronicity basically made the decision for me, in a weird way. Now that I'm looking back on it, I can't help but wonder—did that really happen because of fate, or was I subconsciously manifesting it because I’m so anxious about the economy? Honestly, I have no clue...
@David Green11, look, obviously we aren't all gonna want the exact same things, but do you actually feel that way right now? :-) I'm just glad someone's on my wavelength 🙂
@give me an example of synchronicity?
Is this a case of everyday synchronicity? It sounds kind of silly—and maybe it is—but this stuff has been happening to me so much lately that I’ve started wondering... okay, so I need to hit up my hair stylist. I’ve been there recently, so I already know she changed her hours, I know the new schedule, I know the whole deal... and I never, ever call her out of the blue. I just show up. But this time, just as I'm about to pick up the phone to check those hours... I stop and think, "Wait, why am I even calling? I already know when she's open." But then, like, against my own better judgment, I go ahead and dial anyway. I start some mindless small talk, just being polite, and then she tells me, "Actually, I'm closed today." Like, seriously?
It's probably not a huge cosmic sign or anything, but it's pretty wild because I didn't waste a ton of gas driving halfway across town just because I made that call—which, again, I almost didn't make since I never call her... is that just a super basic, boring example of synchronicity?
And yeah, I’m not even asking about the signs that you're heading down the wrong path—like some kind of cosmic sucker punch to the head—but rather, what shows you're actually on the right track!!!
I don't know, I can't help but feel like there really is such a thing as a right way and a wrong way to do things—or at least a "correct" direction to head in. To be more specific, you basically start out on the right path. It’s like when you’re cruising down the I-95, everything is smooth, and then suddenly you take a wrong turn, end up lost on some winding backroads in rural Georgia, and just spend the next hour trying to find a way back onto the interstate. The whole point is getting back on that highway.
Well, looking at my life right now... let's just say I'm definitely stuck on one of those side roads 🙂 but I'm pretty damn sure I'll find my way back to the main highway eventually. 🙂
If we want to get all deep and philosophical about it—and I know, I know, here I go again—you could argue that this detour is technically part of the journey too. And yeah, I guess that's true, but honestly? It would have been a lot better if I'd just stayed on the interstate the whole time instead of exiting early and wasting all this time driving in circles. Wouldn't it? :-)
I honestly get the feeling that everyone’s suddenly obsessed with talking about money—and usually, it’s the people who are already doing pretty well for themselves. It’s like nothing else matters anymore. I remember reading somewhere that money has basically become the new God. And honestly? They aren't wrong.
For me, though, I think you can tell if you're "on the right track" by that gut feeling, you know? That sense of balance or an inner voice guiding you. I don't mean like a perfect life where nothing ever goes wrong or there are zero hurdles—that's impossible. I just mean that deep-down feeling that you're exactly where you need to be at the right time, no matter how chaotic things get.
If I'm being totally real with myself, I feel like I drifted off course a while back, and now I'm just kind of hacking my way through the woods trying to find my way back to the main road. I'm just hoping to catch a glimpse of it soon 🙂
So, how do you actually know if you’re on the right track in life? Like, how can you tell you’re finally walking the path you were actually meant to be on? What are the tells? Are there even any signs to look for, or is it all just... I don't know, guesswork?
Or maybe you’re just totally lost and have no clue at all?
