Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
Wait, is this the same Jim Rickards who was shouting from the rooftops back in 2013, claiming gold would hit $4,000 right after it tanked from $1,800 down to $1,100?
Dell PowerEdge R740 RAM configurations in Desktops ·
I’m looking for some serious troubleshooting help here because I’m hitting a wall with my server's memory issues.

Here’s the backstory. This machine originally shipped with two sticks of 512 MB RAM. A few years back, I decided to give it a bit of a boost, swapping those out for two 1 GB sticks. It worked perfectly fine after the upgrade—actually, it felt significantly faster, which was great.

But recently, the thing just refused to boot. Instead of starting up, it started throwing these error beeps and flashing diagnostic lights. Based on the light patterns, it’s clearly a RAM issue. I tried swapping in brand-new modules, but no luck whatsoever. It just keeps repeating the same beep codes and showing the same error lights every single time I try to power it on.

I managed to track down the Memory Configurations Sample for this specific model over at this link: http://support.feelpcs.com/pc-spec/P...60.htm#1052533

I feel like I’ve exhausted every logical step, but nothing is working. In a moment of desperation, I tried running it with just a single 512 MB stick, and miraculously, it finally booted—but only in Safe Mode. Of course, it’s painfully slow.

To make matters even more frustrating, I’ve tested almost every combination imaginable. One 256 MB stick? Nothing. One 1 GB stick? Dead. Two 256 MB sticks? Won't budge. Even two 1 GB sticks won't work. For some inexplicable reason, the only way I can get any life out of this machine is by using one solitary 512 MB stick.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how I can fix it? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
