I mentioned earlier that this all looks pretty weird to me from an outsider's perspective. Honestly, the strangest part is having a massive city of nearly a million people right there, yet the stadium sits mostly empty. If we're being real, half of America probably supports Dinamo given their potential.
As for regular fans and casual viewers, they’re absolutely necessary. Not everyone can be an ultra; to me, nothing beats a dad taking his kid to the stadium on a Saturday to watch their favorite club.
I brought up the Delije because they actually managed to get the general public excited about showing up. You guys seem to have created this gap—maybe unintentionally—between yourselves and the average supporter. That’s why you see 500 people fighting to get Mamić out while everyone else just doesn't care.
The thing is, people go to games for the atmosphere. They want every match to feel like a spectacle, and that’s what draws the crowds in.
What’s a regular fan going to do, watch 200 of you brawling for 90 minutes? It’s not exactly entertaining. Plus, when the football itself is mediocre, people would rather stay home and watch Real Madrid, Barça, or Milan.
You claim police crackdowns drove the crowd away, but if the cops are hauling supporters off in the east and west stands, then the US is basically a banana republic. I don't think that's the case, though; the cops aren't stupid, they know exactly what's happening.
Maybe Dinamo just never had that same momentum with the general public that Hajduk or CZ has, or maybe it’s just one specific group following the team and that’s it. Just my two cents from the sidelines.
To answer Zacko, I’ve been pulling for Partizan for 36 years. I’m not as active as I used to be, but I still show up.
Ryan Watson42 said:I don't get why you're thinking like that. Why couldn't I show up in the North with my son to rain hell on Dynamo Chicago? Or just screw Split... maybe that's how we actually help build the future of the Chicago supporter scene.
Say whatever you want, but this whole argument is just a way to sugarcoat things for those idiots—those Fans you're talking about. All they have is sheer numbers, regardless of whether the stands are filled with old folks, women, or whoever else... but honestly, who cares? You gotta look at yourself instead of spitting on others. Even if they're bigger than BBB right now, everything settles eventually. Only the persistent survive.

Bold 2: That mindset is exactly why we ended up in this mess. What good are clowns in jerseys, softies, women, or kids? Sometimes those guys in jerseys cheer harder than some tough guy in FP just crossing his arms and watching the game. 🤷
Casey Gomez3 said:Jesse Campbell, I'm also rooting for a membership model because that’s the only way a club and its fans actually vibe together. But the catch is the crowd will mostly be "casual" fans. Maybe even 90% of them. Their take on what being a fan means is totally different from ours. So, any future boards picked by those members will just mirror their mindset in club policy, and that's that. You feel me? I don't think we can escape the tug-of-war between the board and the fans, which basically smells like political interference. You with me?

I was looking at some old photos from a few years back when you guys had massive crowds in the stands. It’s like you all just lost your spark or got totally drained fighting against Mommy.
I also checked out clips from when the club changed its name; there was so much energy back then. Now, everything feels monotone—at least that's how it looks to me.
Plus, I don't get how a city as big as Chicago can't pull more than 200 people together to fight against Mommy. I mean, look at the BBB, you should have another heavy-hitting group in your own city, but even though the city is yours, those numbers are pathetic.
It's obvious that without a crowd, there's zero pressure. If you had a full stadium of, say, 20,000 people screaming for Mommy to get out, he'd pack his bags fast. Maybe your mistake is failing to mobilize the rest of the city and everyone who loves Dynamo.
Back in the day, everyone laughed at the New York City fans when they were putting up posters saying "Star Mobilization," but since then, they've grown like crazy in history, whereas five years ago, they barely had 200 people in the stands for minor games.
Patrick Sullivan84 said:A group topping out at 500 to 1,000 people is the limit. Anyone claiming more is just delusional. You won't find ten different groups in all of Europe that can pull 200 people together when things get intense, let alone thousands.
The issue isn't the core group; it's everything else. There are no retirees, no students, no casual fans, no women, no kids... there's NOBODY. This isn't just about the state of the Los Angeles Lakers or the sport itself—it’s a reflection of the whole damn country.
But even with all this apathy and repression, we're still here, loud and proud as ever. These times won't last forever. Better days are coming, just like they always do.

Anyone who was at the Rose Bowl that night will tell you—it was easily the most wasted, blackout-drunk crowd in stadium history. 🤣
Jesse Campbell, right? 😁
