I was just following up on that nonsense about paying the fee for a work phone. It’s my responsibility because it’s in my possession. My company covers the service for that device 24/7, all year round—not just during some arbitrary 7-to-3 window! Honestly, how can anyone on this forum even argue otherwise? It's embarrassing.

I don't know who specifically wrote that, so I didn't quote anyone. And if you think I was calling you out, pirate, but you didn't write it—my bad. But if you did? Step up. 😬

It honestly blows my mind how these forum scammers try to play people. According to them, you should be paying some ridiculous fee a hundred times over for the exact same device! Give me a break.
It’s based on what, exactly? Just because I happen to have this official work phone? Sure, I’ve got it, but the company that actually owns the device already covered the fees. Case closed. End of story.

I can't stand this fee and I'm not paying it—not because I think it's unnecessary, but because I refuse to fund the massive salaries of a bunch of lazy bureaucrats and those lying collectors who lie the second they open their mouths.

Once they actually fix the public broadcasting system and start offering decent programming, then maybe I'll consider paying. Right now, they just take the money and give nothing back, since they wrote the laws to make sure they don't have to do a single thing while they just rake in the cash.

Slafko, just let him be. It’s not worth wasting your breath on people like that—kind of like trying to argue with a debt collector at your front door. Best to just ignore them; they don't care about logic, they just want their fee, and they'll squeeze you for it no matter what. These vultures would try to charge a blind person a TV license fee and a deaf person for owning a radio!

Since when is my laptop a TV receiver!? I don't have a TV tuner card for it, and from what I know about tech, I can't even catch their signal without one. My laptop is a computer, not a TELEVISION RECEIVER!
I'm telling you, just because they started putting some—but not all—of their programming online doesn't give them the right to charge me a fee for owning a computer. Period. At this rate, I'll be paying a fee for my fridge or my washing machine soon just because they can connect to the internet!

The whole bit about them streaming their show on their site, and how paying the license fee suddenly makes every single connected device liable, is just pure nonsense. Why should I be forced to pay a fee just because that option exists? I’ve got at least ten different knives in my kitchen, but that doesn't make me a cold-blooded killer. Just because you have access to something doesn't mean you actually use it. I haven't visited their website and I never will—I honestly couldn't care less.

You shouldn't have given them your full name. If you used their specific cancellation form—the one where you check a box agreeing they’ll just reactivate your subscription if you try to block their billing—then expect those bills to start showing up again.

Honestly, the best move is to just stop dealing with them entirely. No talking, no arguing. Back when I used to go toe-to-toe with them, they were constantly hovering or waiting to ambush me in my own apartment hallway. Ever since I started playing dead and acting like they don't even exist? Total silence. Haven't heard a peep in 2 or 3 years. :-D
