Here is a link to a pretty useful guide... it was put together specifically for the Indianapolis area, but it covers plenty of general stuff you really ought to think about before launching your own business... I'd recommend checking it out... especially the section regarding sole proprietorship vs. an LLC (chapter 6) and the part about taxes/contributions (chapter 10).
