The first one is going for $23
Then there's the second one at 110
And the third one is also 110

shadowmason6 said:Richard Myers4, my mom also had surgery for rectal cancer—Dukes C—about a year ago. The tumor was on a linear flexure, and they ended up removing about 80cm of her colon. Five lymph nodes were involved. She recovered well and went through six cycles following the Mayo protocol. She didn't undergo radiation because they don't typically recommend it for that specific tumor placement.
The February results were completely clear! There was this tiny thing on the liver that wouldn't show up on the CT scan (apparently it wouldn't show up on any other test either), and since her liver enzymes were fine, they didn't send her for further testing.
We should have the results from yesterday's MSCT in a few days... I’m still feeling anxious, though...

Which hospital was your dad operated in?
I would really suggest taking the test results to the Mayo Clinic to get a second opinion regarding chemotherapy. We actually had to travel with my mom for about a month (or maybe a few days longer) after her surgery. Though, honestly, I don't even understand why we bothered, since nobody there actually examined her; we just showed up with all the complete records, including fresh colonoscopy results and markers...
Keeping my fingers crossed that your dad recovers quickly and well so he can move forward in this fight!

He was operated on in Brooklyn, and they prescribed both chemo and radiation, even though it supposedly hasn't spread anywhere except to the lymph nodes, just like the report says.🤷
It's just frustrating because our primary doctor insisted both before and after the surgery that the intestinal wall hadn't been breached, only for another doctor to tell us on the very last day that he "knew" from the start that the wall *had* been breached, 😕which was quite a shock for my mom.
And as for the oncologist, they insisted that Dad come to St. personally when ordering everything, since he can't sit for more than a couple of minutes, so he requested an ambulance ride. But then, after all that, they told us only Mom could come to St. with the papers and results. So, he's heading in today, and we'll see what they decide to prescribe for his chemo??
Thanks for the well wishes.👍

Regarding the test results, let’s get one thing straight—there isn't a tumor sitting inside there anymore, okay? It was surgically removed along with a section of the intestine. 😉

And when it comes to chemotherapy, they’re the ones who will decide what’s best... isn't that just how it works? They make the calls, don't they?
My mom was diagnosed with Dukes B, and she ended up following the Mayo protocol, undergoing FU/LV along with 30 sessions of radiation therapy...
Her results look good now, but honestly, I have to say—the initial diagnosis was something else entirely. My own mom had completely clear lymph nodes, so why on earth should we assume she’s going to follow the exact same treatment path? It just doesn't always work out that way, does it?

Good luck in the fight!!!!

edit:
Casey Palmer5, my darling! 😢

Thanks.
We’re still just sitting here waiting for that first appointment with the oncologist, so we'll have to see what they actually have to say once we're finally in the room, but in the meantime, I've been spending way too much time scrolling through the internet, looking up everything I can find about nutrition and diet—trying to figure out exactly what kind of food I should be feeding him to boost his immunity as much as possible so he can actually stand a chance against all the physical toll this is going to take.👍We can only hope for the best.🙂

Casey Palmer5, I also want to send my deepest condolences—I can only begin to imagine how surreal it all felt, everything unfolding with such incredibly jarring speed. :-(
Well, I guess it’s my turn to join this depressing conversation, unfortunately...
My dad just went through surgery for colon cancer, and he’s currently dealing with an ostomy bag while he gets ready to start chemo and radiation, but I am staring at this biopsy report and I am completely lost—how can it possibly still show a tumor mass measuring 6.5x3.5 cm after the operation?????
Does anyone here actually know anything about the most effective chemotherapy protocols for this kind of malignancy, or maybe someone could help me make sense of this pathology report? It says there are metastases in 8 out of 18 lymph nodes, which sounds absolutely terrifying... He had the surgery done up in New York City, but now they have him heading down to Miami for the chemo treatments.

Got a quick question, might be a bit silly. Say I set up a website to sell something I made, like an e-book, and charge people for registration too. Do I need to register this as an actual business? I'm assuming it would be illegal if I wasn't paying taxes to the IRS...

Thanks in advance

Best

I'm looking for some clarity on this too, and hopefully someone here actually knows their way around the legal side of things so we can get an answer.🤷👍
