Starting an LLC: Where to begin?

I am currently in the process of planning to launch my own LLC, and I find myself needing a little guidance on a few technicalities.
1. Is it legally permissible to list a personal vehicle as part of my initial capital contribution?
2. Am I allowed to register the business at my current residence if I don't actually own the property, but instead live there with my parents?
