If the founder is a foreign individual, we'll need passports for both the founder and all board members (though for Austrian citizens, an ID card would suffice). Both the founders and the directors are required to sign the paperwork in front of a notary public.

I am looking into opening a business here in the States alongside my cousin, but there is a catch: he is a foreign national without a passport or citizenship.
Is this even legally possible?
If it is, does the process differ significantly from what a standard citizen would go through when registering a company?

Ultimately, working for someone else just isn't an option for me.
I have to be my own boss, likely operating as an independent contractor on a project-by-project basis.

I heard through the grapevine that retirees might be able to pick up some part-time work—maybe around 16 hours a month—at a local spot like a Starbucks or a CVS under an independent contractor agreement.

So you can be a retiree selling high-end cookware on a contract basis, but you aren't allowed to work shifts at a local grocery store under that same type of contract??

Does anyone happen to know the best way to hire a retiree?

Of course, I’m keeping in mind that they shouldn't have to give up any of their Social Security benefits, even though they're looking to pick up some extra work on the side.
