Look, I get that you panicked, but we are talking about incredibly minimal amounts here, and when dealing with burns, preventing an infection has to be the absolute priority; just imagine if that wound gets inflamed, then hits you with bacteria, which then forces you onto antibiotics, pain relievers, and so on.

By the way, for protecting burns from infection, there is now vaseline gauze on the market that comes pre-treated with a uniform layer of silver sulfadiazine, which is much more consistent than just smearing on some Silvadene ourselves.
