Since I went through the initiation myself, I don't remember any specific vows having to be recited. And based on what I've heard from a few friends who were also there, nobody else had anything buzzing around their heads.
Maybe there was just a fly or a bumblebee in the room hitting his head, or maybe your friend just has flies following him around everywhere.😍
I bet those church exorcists helped him out by casting out whatever was wrong, so now he's a true believer and has definitely found God.
That's probably why you never hear about people in churches having flies buzzing around their heads.😁

Have you ever heard the story regarding the siddhis and how Patanjali acquired them?

Marijuana, much like any other substance, can offer a window into different states of consciousness when you're sober. But let’s be real: constant use isn't going to lead to some endless stream of enlightenment. It’ll just leave you with brain fog and zero focus. Moderation is key, people.😁
By the way, what is the core philosophy behind the Virgin Islands approach?

And as for the path? A path is just a path. You can hack your way through a dense forest and move at a snail's pace, or you can stick to a well-worn trail, or maybe jump on a high-speed interstate. Even if two people end up on the same road, their experiences and what they learn along the way will be totally different. They might not even end up at the same destination.

Oh, there is a massive difference. I don't know how much you've looked into chakra theory, but let's break it down. Having knowledge is just the first chakra—it's about accumulation, feeling secure, hoarding facts. But *knowing*? That's the sixth chakra. That's creation, intuition, true insight. One makes you an intelligent person; the other just makes you a walking encyclopedia.😉🙂

If you're just wandering through a fog, you could spend years drifting aimlessly.
Besides, they serve as a way to confirm you're actually making progress.
You could tell yourself you've reached the "7th stage," but if you can't actually prove it, that's just self-deception or plain old lying to yourself.
It's the same as "working" on your spiritual growth for years only to realize you haven't moved an inch.
It's like spending years looking for the ocean in the middle of Kansas; you're never going to find it there.
Knowledge doesn't enslave you—it sets you free. Ignorance is what leads you straight into an illusion.

Just hoarding information isn't freedom, and that’s the crux of what knowledge actually is. Knowing is what liberates you. There is a massive distinction between collecting data and actual understanding. Learning is necessary up to a point, but eventually, you have to stand on your own two feet. No one can hand you a certificate of completion because, let me repeat myself, everyone's path is unique. If you spend your time following someone else's map, you aren't living your own life—you're just playing a supporting role in theirs.😉

Beyond that, every book is basically a recipe. Everything anyone teaches you is a recipe, since they learned it from someone else, too...
That’s why you need practice and experience to let things finally crystallize.
I mean, you aren't limiting yourself as long as you stay open.
Other people's experiences are really just guideposts; you can use them if you want, or you can just pass them by.
If you start with zero knowledge, you won't even realize where you're headed or what's happening.
Ignorance is like driving through heavy fog in the middle of nowhere—you can't see a thing.
And these states of consciousness? They're defined by someone's vision and experience, which has then been verified by a few others who reached that same level.
You can choose to believe that, or you don't have to. It's up to you.
Look, you can tell what someone is capable of if they're in the 6th state of consciousness—things like being able to think anything into existence, being in two places at once, creating something out of nothing, walking through walls, being invisible, flying, and so on...
If someone can't do those things, then maybe they just aren't in that state of consciousness.

Look, sure, learning from others is useful to a point. But eventually, it just becomes a burden. You end up feeling like you're just a tiny cog in some collective identity. Everyone’s path should be untrodden because we are all unique individuals. Categorizing states of consciousness? Honestly, that's unnecessary if you're actually doing the work on your own consciousness. That's just ego stuff—trying to feel "accomplished" when you experience or imagine a shift, or just giving the mind something to play with.😉

casualmaker13 said:Look, the boundaries are really just defined by where your own awareness sits and what you're capable of experiencing. These stages were mapped out by people who actually walked the path themselves.
Anyone pursuing this kind of inner growth ends up testing these states firsthand, so having a roadmap can act like a sort of progress report—assuming, of course, that you actually buy into the idea of a structured hierarchy of consciousness.
Since we're talking about incredibly subtle experiences, most descriptions come from gurus or enlightened teachers who have been there or have direct insight into the cosmic record.
Basically, everyone has experienced the first three states of consciousness.
The fourth state is something anyone who starts meditating and doing the inner work will run into.
But when it comes to being in the fifth stage... well, people definitely know who's actually there, and there are ways to verify it.

...there aren't any foolproof recipes here. Experience is purely subjective and can't be transmitted with total precision; it's shared through analogies. The moment you try to grasp someone else's perception, you risk limiting your own, because expectations act as a filter.🙂

Larry Williams said:I practice meditation, and honestly, anyone who actually puts in the work can experience that fourth state of consciousness—transcendence—pretty quickly. If you make it a daily habit, you’ll start feeling your awareness expand and grow.
Transcendence happens right there in the meditation; it widens our perception, brings this incredible sense of peace, and acts as a stepping stone toward those higher states of being.
Of course, everyone starts from a different baseline, so there’s no magic stopwatch or universal timeline for when you hit a specific level of consciousness.
The secret sauce? Just start, and for heaven's sake, be consistent.

...just make sure you don't let the whole thing turn into mindless autopilot.🙂

Fair enough, maybe 😁
Then again, I see it as something deeply grounded—something physical that manifests and flows "downward."

I'm certainly not ruling out the possibility that you're right🙂

I'm about ready to walk away from the doctors and the meds. Just... done. Enough is enough.

Hmm. But if I start stacking more names in there, where does all that soul go?
Money’s leaking out. 😁

What if you gave some alternative methods a shot?

accumulated Yin. All those organs are Yin, so menstruation would be Yin too. I can't say for certain, but when I sit and think about it, my gut tells me it's definitely Yin.😁

Not that I’m saying every woman should jump into motherhood—not at all. Everyone's gotta do their own thing.

I have no clue what kind of "blockages" we're talking about here, but honestly? I wouldn't want to be on hormone supplements either.🙂

Look, I think menstruation is just yin. It makes sense, really—you see those elite female athletes who build massive muscle mass; they lose their feminine side, their period stops... that's the yin leaving. So, if you take estrogen, you're essentially adding yin back into your system to jumpstart that cycle again.

We’re talking about enough energy to make you leak everywhere—it's wild—but if that stuff actually hit the sixth chakra, you'd reach enlightenment. Look, I'm not saying a woman *has* to stop her period to get there, but it would definitely make the ride a lot smoother. Even Taoist texts suggest that pausing menstruation basically halts the aging process for women. You keep all that estrogen in play instead of burning through it. So, ladies... just food for thought.
Honestly, this whole thing is tripping me up.

So many women deal with amenorrhea, which leads to masculinization—probably way too much yang in the system. Then they take various pills that pump them with extra estrogen while simultaneously blocking the pineal gland, if you ask me. And then the pineal gland just stops functioning.

So where does that leave us? If a woman is working on raising her menstrual 😁 energy, does that mean she can't—or shouldn't—get pregnant?

But then again, the period itself is yang 🤔 Hmm.

I mean, let's be real—it’s a completely different ballgame when you lose your period due to extreme physical exertion. We're talking about elite athletes or girls struggling with anorexia. In those specific cases, losing your cycle doesn't actually trigger an estrogen drop in the same way people think. It's just... different.🙂

Some people act like reproduction is just for the uninitiated. It’s almost pretentious, isn't it? I remember reading this old bit about how energy works—sort of like how Carlos Castaneda used to argue—suggesting that when a woman gives birth, a literal portion of her vital essence transfers to the child. So, if you follow that logic to its conclusion... well, you see where this is going.🙂

What exactly would you even mean by "jang" when talking about a period? I'm sitting here staring at my screen, trying to wrap my head around that specific phrasing. Is it a vibe? A mood? Some kind of weird slang I missed while I was busy reading old biographies? Honestly, if we're talking about the sheer, unadulterated chaos of a monthly cycle, there are a million ways to describe it. It’s like being stuck in a permanent traffic jam on the I-95 during rush hour—just constant, irritating friction with no end in sight. Give me some context here. What's the angle?

Chemistry is chemistry, after all. It doesn't matter what people put inside themselves—be it peanuts, steak, or a bowl of grits.
The real priority is ensuring that whoever is concocting these little treats stays in touch with "whatever works," but as for drinking urine or some kind of menstrual transfiguration... well, that's getting into territory far too extreme for me. I am a strict vegetarian.🙂 😁

I have this one buddy who visits this local guru, and the guy actually suggests they drink urine to ward off invading larvae and demons. He claims urine has great benefits for the physical body because it's packed with minerals perfectly prepared for consumption—pure alchemy. ROFL.

Brian Baker32 said:Having kids works the same way. You can basically stretch out that period of feeling good every single year. If you have one kid, you're saving eleven eggs for later. Then you just breeze right into menopause.

Well, if we’re going by Castaneda, I don't think so. According to his philosophy, every single child takes a little piece of your energy away until you aren't even whole anymore. Then again, you have to consider that Dr. Hammer’s modern medical approach actually recommends pregnancy as a remedy for almost any woman's ailment, whether it's physical or psychological.😁

Meditation and your period: Any tips? in Spirituality ·
Yeah, that’s exactly how they lay it out in Sex and the City.
The idea is that if you don't let all that energy just leak away physically, and instead channel it up toward the sixth chakra, you'd actually reach enlightenment. Now, look, I’m not claiming a woman absolutely *has* to stop her period to reach spiritual awakening—that's a big leap—but it would certainly make the whole process a lot smoother. According to the teachings in Sex and the City, halting menstruation effectively halts the aging process in women. The logic is that you retain more estrogen instead of burning through it. So, ladies, you might want to give that some serious thought...🙂
Meditation and your period: Any tips? in Spirituality ·
Think of menstruation as a massive surge of energy—an outpouring of all those emotional build-ups that happen because of a biological "nesting conflict" occurring deep within your system. You didn't conceive, so your body essentially goes through a reset after preparing for it. It’s an objective truth that women possess a much sharper intuition than men, offering a greater capacity to tap into their inner selves and reach true self-actualization, though they inherently operate from a Yin perspective.
However, that surplus of energy doesn't have to be wasted; it can actually be transformed through a sort of alchemical process. There is this specific exercise called the Deer. It’s designed to halt the flow by redirecting that energy upward from the second chakra instead of letting it just bleed out externally.
