Best printer to buy right now? in Computer Peripherals ·
Hey everyone, I’m dropping in here with a bit of a request for anyone who actually knows their way around laser printers. I'm on the hunt for an A4 machine that can handle heavy-duty 110lb cardstock for business cards—ideally something that won't choke when I try to run textured, linen-finish paper through it. I was reading somewhere that the HP LaserJet Pro might be able to manage thicker stocks and, since it's a laser setup, it might play nice with those textured surfaces.
If anyone out there has actually put a machine like that to the test and has some real-world experience, please, point me in the right direction before I waste my money.
Thanks a ton.
Steve.
Power walking tips? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Setting aside competitive race walking—which is its own beast with strict rules and specific techniques—standard brisk walking can serve as both light recreation and a legitimate workout.
For seniors or those just looking for casual exercise, thirty minutes of power walking a day does the trick. However, if you want to level up, longer treks, hill climbs, or using trekking poles offer a cardiovascular burn similar to running, but with significantly less impact on your joints.
In many parts of the US, walking is such a massive part of the fitness culture that there are even full-scale marathons dedicated specifically to walkers.

I’ve been trying to get out 3-4 times a week for about an hour lately—sometimes even carrying those little one-pound hand weights. I read some people swear by walking first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, but I usually stick to my evening walks.😕
Where do you all walk, how long are your sessions, and what kind of results are you actually seeing?
🙂

In the US, maybe a dozen people actually compete in competitive power walking.

There’s a race coming up at Central Park in early October 3.1 miles so you should come along.
My wife and I have been doing this for a year now—we can clock a 28-29 minute pace on the 3.1 miles course at our fastest.
