Olivia Rivera77 said:I know this feeling all too well. I spent forever just sitting there, waiting for anything to change, and then one day—out of nowhere—this sense of happiness and hope just kind of washed over me. It wasn't like the constant, heavy feeling of thinking things would never get better. From that day on, I started feeling a little bit better every single day. Just hang in there and be patient, okay?
hugs😍

You really just have to have patience and follow everything your therapist suggests. I make sure to do exactly what they tell me, and now my OCD is under control. It took me quite a while to truly accept that I have OCD, but once I did, managing it became much easier and I could function normally again. It is incredibly important to realize that you are ultimately your own best advocate in this process. It isn't easy, but please, keep trying.

My parents drive me absolutely insane because they just think I have a bad attitude... they haven't a prayer that there's something else entirely behind it. 😢

I honestly think the best path forward is to open up to your parents and have a real conversation with them. You need to explain that this is something happening to you that isn't within your control. I’ve been fighting my own battle with OCD since I was a little girl, and I can tell you from experience that staying in control requires a combination of support from loved ones, working with a psychiatrist, and, most importantly, a lot of internal strength. It hasn't been an easy road; we've all had those moments where things feel overwhelming, but with enough effort, so much can be improved. If I could offer one piece of advice, it would be to keep those conversations private within your family rather than telling "the whole neighborhood." People can be unkind, and you don't want to give anyone ammunition to judge you.🙂
