OCD: General Discussion Thread
in Psychology & Therapy ·
hey everyone 🙂
Look, I'll be straight with you right off the bat—I already have an account here and I'm active every single day, but since most people know me, I had to make this new profile just to jump into this thread. Hope I don't get banned 🙏
So, basically, this is about my ex. We lived together for 4 years and were planning a future.
I won't drag this out with a million details; I'll try to keep it short.
On paper, we were perfect for each other, but there was this tiny little issue that eventually spiraled into a massive dealbreaker and blew us apart for good.
Right from the start, some things just felt off. It was about the sex—he just wasn't really into it. I’d usually have to talk him into it, so like, 80% of the time I was the one initiating.
He didn't have any weird kinks or anything. I just figured he was inexperienced. His erections were fine, but the sex itself was always... mediocre. No oral from his side, no touching my lady parts. Porn was out of the question, and even masturbation was a no-go 😲
The guy is also obsessively clean. His place is spotless every single day (he has a cleaning service), and everything has to be in its exact spot. Nothing is allowed to be left on the table, in the sink, or anywhere else. Clothes and underwear that were worn even once went straight into the wash, which ran like five times a week.
Eventually, the sex stopped entirely because he claimed it wasn't that important in a relationship as long as "everything else" was in order.
On top of all that, I noticed he could never just sit still. Even when watching TV, he'd constantly be fidgeting with his hands, and he had restless leg syndrome—his feet would be twitching even when he was just lying down trying to relax.
This isn't about cheating or another woman; it's about his mental state.
I've been reading through your posts, and honestly, I can see him in so many of you. Is it possible this is OCD? And what I really want to know is, for those of you dealing with OCD, how do you handle sex? Do you run into these same issues?
