Caught a few decent scenes here and there, but honestly? The rest was pretty much a snooze fest.
The diffusion of responsibility is definitely part of the equation, but let's be real—it isn't the actual motivation. It just greases the wheels for everything else to happen.
If that were all there was to it, some guy could just walk up to a crowded flea market in Chicago, grab a megaphone, and shout, hey everyone, I’ve got a killer idea! Let's go raid these vendor stalls since the odds of us all getting caught are basically zero! And you know what? Everyone would probably start grabbing whatever they could get their hands on. 😁
If you ask me, a "mob" isn't really all that different from an individual; they just have way fewer inhibitions since they don't feel the need to justify their actions or seek approval from anyone else.
A crowd functions like a collective consciousness—kind of like the Borg 😁—where everything they do is just the sum total of all the individual "vectors" within the group.
Unfortunately, raw instinct usually wins out as the dominant force. Logic just can't compete because, inside a pack like that, there’s no room for actual debate; everything just boils down to primitive, emotional signaling.
When you throw the basic human craving for belonging and social validation into the mix, you get exactly what we see at rowdy NFL games or political rallies: a mindless, unruly mob acting more like wild animals than people.
