Best online payment cards?
in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I've been using a Visa Debit card for about a year now. It was quite a struggle at first, trying to wrap my head around how online payments actually work, until I finally tracked down a card with that essential CVV. Once I opened a foreign currency account at Chase and set my primary currency to US Dollar, I received a Visa card with the CVV located on the back, right on the signature line—just those last three digits. You really can't even set up a PayPal account or buy anything without that CVV. When you open that type of account, it’s also worth setting up Chase online banking; if you only use Chase Lite, you're pretty much stuck just viewing transactions. Having access to things like Apple Pay and other features is better too, since combining those three options usually gets you a better discount on transaction fees. You don't need a steady salary to start; just a state ID and a little bit of cash. They didn't require me to deposit any specific minimum amount just to get a Visa with a CVV.
