I am looking to upgrade my Toshiba laptop—it's a Toshiba Satellite equivalent—by adding an extra 512MB of RAM. I actually managed to scavenge this 512MB stick from my old Dell laptop. Does anyone know if they are even compatible? Is it DDR or DDR2???

I did try sliding it into the empty slot just to see, and physically, everything seems fine; it clicks right into place.

Here is what is written on the labels (I went ahead and transcribed everything for you)

The current RAM already inside the Toshiba:
Crucial RAM equivalent 512MB 2Rx16
DDR SDRAM standard

The old RAM I want to plug in:

Mastercard Refresh - it's a prepaid card.

I went through Hypo Bank; you just need to show some ID, and then there's about a two-week wait for them to make it.
A minimum $33 deposit is required, and it costs $25 to get it issued... honestly, it's perfect for online shopping because you can only spend exactly what you put into it.
